Small but nice setup with about a dozen donation beds. Little testing and questioning verification rooms. Little waiting area in a corner with tables of snacks and bottled water available. Those that donate a couple of pints of blood are in and out in about 45-60 minutes. But those who donate plasma or platelets could be there for 2-3 hours in total but you also get placed on one of the nicer donation beds with a smart TV with remote, Netflix, and headphones to keep you entertained while donating. Make sure to hydrate well before the donation and eat a decent meal a few hours before because you will feel drained and possibly lightheaded after your donation. A few days after your donation, depending on the month and offering, you usually get some form of a donation gift like a E-gift cards or money credits that can go towards food joints or movie theaters. So it’s a good way to donate to those in need but earn a little entertainment funds!

Everyone was so nice and friendly! Didn’t hurt, at most a pinch of “pain” when the needle goes in. I did the rapid pass and it helped a lot.

Good experience donating blood today. I’ve donated several times in Vancouver and always been impressed by the professionalism and efficiency of the crew.

Volunteer! It does a few bodies good! Yours AND the peeps you get to help, whether it’s with blood, with your behind-the-scenes logistic experience or on the front lines, driving an ERV delivering precious water/etc in ravaged neighborhoods…

In and out really fast! I barely had time to sit down in the waiting area before being called back to start the testing. Rapid pass made things go by really quick as well. Phlebotomist Matthew was really nice and cracked a lot of jokes which helped me relax. Lots of snacks and juice for when you’re done with the donation, which took only 8 minutes. I love donating and this building was my best experience so far. Love the American Red Cross!

Staff are always friendly and positive. Great way to be of service to those in need is to give blood.

I came around 1215 to check in for a 1230 appointment and the receptionist was unbelievably rude. There was no one in the waiting area and when I’d made the appointment there were openings for the hour before and after my appointment. She was brusk and eating (nothing wrong with that in and of itself) but she clearly did not want me there.

Why one star? Save a life. Donate blood. Facility is obviously clean and the help had been fabulous each visit. Though you have to deal with the needle stick: I won’t lie…that’s the worst part but look away, tell yourself it’s to save a life, then boom! The quick sensation of vein penetration is over. The flow of your precious blood into a bag begins. Now that wasn’t so bad…was it? 🙂
