Specialty Blood Center is a donor center that specializes in the collection of rare and hard to find human biological materials. We started our business in 1979 and have been a market leader in the biological marketplace for many years.
We collect and store biological materials such as disease state plasma, specialty plasma, normal plasma, serum, urine, etc. and provide them to diagnostic companies , universities and government agencies such as the FDA and CDC, involved in manufacturing, research and development.
SBC operates under IRB approved study protocols for all of it’s sample collections and is regulated by the FDA and the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC).

This place is awful. It’s dirty, the staff act like they are high school dropouts, everyone stands around talking and not working. Even though it only takes 10 minutes to donate elsewhere, this place likes to drag the process out over hours. They are rude here, they are unprofessional, they are uneducated and I highly suggest you donate elsewhere, this place probably reuses old dirty needles. Clown operation run and owned by clowns.

Don’t believe all the wonderful reviews this place gets. I went because they were a convenient location to donate, not because they pay for your blood. When I walked in, I did not get the feeling of cleanliness that I expected from a donation facility. Little things, like staff having to hunt down alcohol swabs, rips and tears in the bedding where the blood is drawn, a general sense of staff dis-coordination and lack of training, and most important for me was the vein-puncture needle. Instead of using the widely popular less painful butterfly needle, they use the larger diameter less expensive more painful needle which draws more blood in less time. These were my experiences.

Nothing to drink in lobby. Water fountain doesn’t work. Staff spends more time socializing than maintaing speedy efficient service. Not sanitary either! Very dirty inside. Staff makes inappropriate remarks as well

The first time I went to this place, I intended to give plasma rather than whole blood – on their website it gave this as an option. I signed plasma on their sheet and was not corrected. The receptionist was VERY rude but the woman who took my blood was fantastic. She made the process nearly painless, and was both professional and friendly (hence two stars rather than one).

Horrible… to the staff change jobs if you don’t like people… y’all in the wrong field of work…. no customer service y’all rather be on the phone texting and jamming to music instead of keeping things stock and giving people reasons to continue to come.
