They seem to have little regard for the donors. They’ll call, text and email nonstop when they want your donation, but when they unexpectedly close a location for the day you’d think they could communicate that prior to me making a 45 minute drive for nothing. I got 4 message confirming my appointment even up to the point the location was already closed. Has now happened multiple times. Customer service and donor appreciation sucks. Better under Bonfils.

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. They care about your health and safety and make the process very simple. The building is clean, and the wifi is free. Spam calls are a symptom of donating, but understandably, blood is always in high need. On the other hand, having an online account comes with a point system with gift card rewards.

My first time at Vitalant was great! Friendly staff! Easy to get through questions prior to visit with the emailed questionnaire and QR for check in at the location near 124th and Huron! Will plan to do regular donations there! Thank you!!

You will be harassed if you donate, so prepare for a long term relationship with spam calls. As a life long blood donor (different agencies at different states), I’d sooner stop donating than donate to vitalant. I get a couple robo calls a week from them. Tried calling, emailing to get my info removed and have them stopped. Was told I need to provide updated address before they would cancel?? Finally got someone who said they could on the phone and told me it may take a couple weeks to be removed???? Either way that was October last year. Still getting the calls. Can’t block them as it’s an unknown number.

Everyone at this location is super friendly, and easy to work with. I have had issues with the staff at another location (I get nervous during donation), and the folks here have been nothing short of amazing to me.

I’ve been cleared by my doctors to donate blood. I’ve donated at this very same location previously, 57 days ago in fact, with the same mild heart condition and medication list that I’ve been on for the past three years that I’ve already donated blood with— that’s not even on the deferred list— and suddenly, today when I tried making a donation, I was told can’t donate. Absolutely ridiculous how suddenly the condition I’ve had since before the pandemic suddenly gets me rejected. Even though I’ve been cleared by my primary care doctor AND my cardiologist to donate blood, some chick doing my intake says “if you don’t have a definitive diagnosis, I have to reject you until you have that diagnosis and then 6 months after that.” Just because I said that my cardiologist was reluctant to call it POTS because it’s an over diagnosed condition. So because they have some lady who thinks she knows better than two doctors who have a combined 50 years experience, I’m not allowed to donate blood because she doesn’t even know what she’s talking about or even attempting to understand. Because of her, I’m actually never going to donate ever again with this company in general and I strongly encourage others to find some other place to donate.

I have been donating through vitalant for over 2 years now. But this was my first time at the westminster center. I had an appointment at 2 pm. I was there well before the time. I saw a few people waiting but didn’t think much about it.

1st time blood donor here. I walked in the Monday before but was told that I’ve to set up an appointment. So, I set up an appointment on Sunday AM. I went back on Sunday and there were 3 ladies there. They are all friendly and did a good job.
