My daughter and I are both O- . We wanted to donate blood because we both keep getting phone calls saying how dangerously low the blood supply is. We tried calling repeatedly for 3 days to make an appointment and no one answers the phone. Today we decided to drive there and see if they would let us donate as a walk-in because their web page said they were open. We got there at 1:40. The sign on the door says they are open Monday-Thursday 12-7, which means they should have been open. All of the lights were off and the door to the office was locked. Apparently they don’t need the blood as bad as they are saying if they make it this impossible to do a good deed.

I unfortunately don’t remember the name of the woman who drew my blood, but she found my “difficult vein” immediately and didn’t leave any bruises. She also made sure that I didn’t pass out and was just generally amazing. Go donate blood with Vitalant in Butler!
