I donate platelets every 4 weeks at this location. The people working there are always friendly, caring, and professional. The process takes about 2 hours from start to finish, and in the time I’ve spent there, I have only seen 5-star work being done! Thanks!

Very Unprofessional!! I went to the WDAM Blood Bowl donation site in Purvis, MS today and was kicked off of the bus by a technician named Jacob. I went to donate and was happy to be there. I had gone through my interview with a young lady that was very pleasant and professional, Sequoia, and when we were done she sat me at the donation station. As I sat there for about 20 minutes while the technicians tended to someone already donating, 2 other people came in to donate and went through the same process of interviews and being placed it’s the donation station. A very nice lady gave me a tee shirt and a piece of pizza and I continued to wait. The 2 people that came in much AFTER I did began the process of getting their blood drawn. I asked the closest technician to me. Jacob if I needed to come back later and that apparently got him mad. He replied “ As you can see, we are very busy. Do you want to donate”? I replied, “yes, that’s why I’m here. I’m just a little aggravated because I’ve been sitting here close to an hour and those people came in after me and they are already getting their blood drawn”. He then said, “ll be right with you”. Now I have been there for over an hour and Jacob finally comes to draw my blood and sticks my vein very hard and it made me flinch. He said “ I’m not going to do this with the way you are acting “. I said “why, because I flinched?” He then said, angrily, “You know exactly what I mean so you can go ahead and get off of the bus”. I said “I’m sorry I flinched but it hurt” and he said “you can just go ahead and get off the bus”. This was very unprofessional and the worst experience I have ever had donating blood. Now I know that blood is needed but if Vitalant has technicians treating people this way, good luck. I know if I don’t receive an answer as to what was done about this unprofessional technician, I WILL take it further up the ladder. I have spoken with his boss who said he would call me back and I did not receive that phone call. Now I’ve left a message with the donor care manager, so we shall see if she calls me back. I’ve been a donor for many years because I believe in giving back but this experience has me wanting Vitalant to put me in the “DO NOT CALL” list. Very disappointing, unprofessional, unnecessary and down right rude!!

Stay away from this place! They don’t know how to draw blood. I have donated for years at other locations. My vains are easy to find and the first time I go here I get a bad bruise and mislead about a reward.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE TODAY!!! Had an appointment on the books for 3 months to give blood today at 9:00am and when I get to the front door there is a sign saying we are closed till 11 am. Hmmm so I am upset to say the least. First of all why can’t you have your meeting after the close of the day and not turn patrons away that are trying to give you the gift of life? You e mail, text, call incessantly trying to get me to come in and give blood, and I keep my appointments so why can’t you? Minus 5 stars would be appropriate for this poorly run Vitalent office.

This is a service near and dear to my heart. Through UBS’s efforts my father enjoyed a longer life. I’m a regular platelet donor and enjoy the ladies who stick needles in my arms. Come on out and save a life or three with your blood. Someone somewhere will owe their life to you.
