It’s no wonder there is a nationwide blood shortage, if every donation site make it this hard to give blood!! First, when you call the local number, your call is answered at a nationwide call center where they then put you on hold to look up hours of operation etc. Then, they are closed on Mondays. They are also only open until 1pm (at least on certain days.) and finally, there is a whole rigmarole for getting an appointment. At least the staff that I had dealings with seemed friendly, but seriously people, if someone wants to donate a life saving, badly needed substance, make it easy for them to do so!!

Nice and clean facility, and a friendly staff. Everyone does a good job of explaining and answering questions. I have donated several times, and on my most recent donation I became very nauseous at the end, likely because I didn’t eat and hydrate well ahead of time. While the experience was miserable for a few minutes, the staff did a great job of taking care of me until I felt well again.

I have been trying for several weeks to set up an appointment for a therapy blood draw for my 89 year old mother. I have gotten the run around from them. It should not take three to five weeks to get paper work together. I was told yesterday that Isabelle would call me back and so far…nothing. I will pay to have Mom’s blood drawn and won’t donate here again.
