Blood drive staff today 6/29, were rude and unprofessional. Isabel made me rushed to answer all the questions before I got checked in. She came off very rude when communicating. Marina was awesome! The tech did a great job.

I went to donate my blood because I get so many notifications on my phone asking for my type. The receptionist was so rude because I didn’t have an appointment. She told me I would have to wait and if other people with appointments showed up, they would take them first so I decided I didn’t want to wait an hour just to see if they will take me I left.

Was a long time blood donor where I previously resided. Recently relocated here and decided to pick it up again. Kinda wish I hadn’t.

I’ve come here 4-6 times a year for over a decade. The staff is very friendly, professional, well-trained, and skilled. Whole-blood donations are pretty quick. (Platelets and other donation types take longer). The donor’s wellbeing is clearly a top priority.

Normally I would give this location 5 stars, today however may easily have been the worst experience I’ve ever had giving blood. I donate every time I’m eligible. I generally donate double red cells. I had a bad experience in 2017 and the supervisor told me to always ask for a supervisor to do my draw. I have shallow/rolling veins. I’ve been doing that. The last time I donated there was no supervisor available so a regular tech did the draw and everything went fine. So this time I didn’t bother. My tech’s name was Joey, I asked how long he’d been doing this and he said a very long time. I explained the vein issues and he didn’t seem too concerned so I wasn’t either. When he inserted the needle he had to adjust it after the insertion. On the first return a bubble formed (not a good sign), he adjusted the needle again. On the second return the machine “alarmed – return pressure too high” and the pain was excruciating. He shut the machine off, removed the needle and tried to relieve the pressure and reduce the bubble in my arm. Needless to say, a complete waist of my time. I’m quite sure the bruising will be extensive and long lasting. Not a good experience.

I made a donation today, my appointment was for a plasma donation. However once they discovered my blood type, type a-. The lady I assume was in charge of the floor very snarkly told the lady questioning me for set up “we do not accept that blood type plasma” when I was getting ready to be seated in a bed. This was after the very kind girl questioning me left the question room to verify everything was good. She said I could do platelets instead, I was fine with that. Once the lady drawing my blood (also very kind) she said my platelet count was to low to donate that she was going to take plasma only. The donation of that went fine but I left wondering if my donation was just going to be thrown out based on the behavior/attitude of the floor manager lady. I will not be returning for any kind of donation now. And hope they stop calling me telling me how urgent donations are. Maybe there wouldn’t be such a shortage if you weren’t treated like you had some kind of contagious disease simply based on your blood type.

I have been coming here for years. And I always had a mix experience when I come. The front people are friendly and attentive about my well being. The person who drew my blood was rough with me. As I said I been coming here for year so I’m pretty aware of the routine. She stood next to me the entire time reminding me to squeeze and release. The conversation was small and I felt like I was a bother.qhen I was completely done. She yanked the velcro off my arm. I’m not here for the experience but it definitely makes a difference. I won’t want anything treating my mom like that. And she likes to come with me. I won’t bring her here no more.
