Today was my first time donating blood in a very long time. I want to compliment the Versiti staff that took care of me at the Bay View community Center site. All was well until I got up too fast. The staff calmly rushed into action – Catching me before I hit the ground. They were very professional and kind. I wish that I could remember their names to give them personal kudos.

After losing my infant daughter just hours earlier I had the pleasure of being harassed by this organization who called me multiple times, texted me, and even contacted the hospital multiple times to speak to me about donating my daughter’s organs. After telling her I was not interested she told me she’d call me again later so I could “sit and think longer.” She called me again in the middle of the night, waking me up to ask the same question. When I once again told her no, she told me “I just wasn’t informed enough” and went on and on about why I should donate, made me give her an explanation as to why I didn’t want to donate, and made me feel awful about not donating my infant daughter’s organs who I just lost hours earlier for unknown reasons. This place and whoever called me and harassed me when I was at the lowest point in my life can go to hell.

I’ve always had a good experience when giving blood, but today was probably the best I’ve had. Janae Smith was the nurse who was taking my blood, and she was by far the sweetest and most helpful person. She talked to me the whole time and was so friendly. It felt like I was there with one of my friends. She just had the most pure soul. I wish her nothing but the best and hope to get her again sometime!

My school does an annual blood drive every year and this year I was finally old enough to donate. This was my first time so of course I was going to be nervous. These people did nothing to make me feel better. They shamed me for a high heart rate, they were laughing at me for being nervous about this being my first time and worst of all the woman looked at my sheet and fat shamed me. She showed the person next to her and she laughed again. Me a 16 year old was being fat shamed by people probably twice my age and then telling me that it’s good that I didn’t give blood because of how fat I am. This is no way to treat a high school student and I would STRONGLY RECOMMEND not going here to trust your safety in these peoples hands.

Recently donated Stem Cells at this location as part of Be the Match. The team was top class, thoroughly explaining everything that was going on (even bringing medical terminology down to my understanding level) and took great care of my girlfriend and I throughout the whole day. Special shout-out to Harpreet and Paula for being with us! We appreciate you.

Amazing service and very friendly staff. They’ll take care of you, be nice to you and help you understand what’s happening and what are your options. They’ll offer you plenty of snacks and drinks throughout the whole process. The nurses on the registration desk are super helpful and professional. It’s also very hygienic here and the follow high standards. #charity #BloodDonation

Poor customer service. Requested not to be called 5 times and was questioned by operator as to why. The operator proceeded to give unsolicited medical advice. If I could donate blood, I surely wouldn’t do it here.

The phlebotomists at this location are absolutely fantastic. Historically I have had trouble with my small veins causing problems with blood donations, but the staff here make it quick and easy. They’re very attentive and will make sure you have everything you need to have a pleasant experience.
