Overall it was a good experience for my first time. The worst part was lack of cleanliness for a medical institution. When I arrived they asked me to wash my hands. I went to the sink and it was filthy. The floors, tables and counters were all filthy. The room where they did the physical was in disarray and dirty. I would give the lack of cleanliness 1 star.

After being a regular donor to the Versiti Blood Center, blood screening showed a positive result for a bacterial infection which made me ineligible as a donor (this was a false positive and given the nature of the bacterial infection, I knew full well that was the case.) A negative result was required before being able to donate again and that negative result would need to be submitted to a review board before I would be able to resume my donations. The blood center itself would not draw blood for testing as I was no longer able to be in the clinic. I needed to see my own doctor and ask to be scheduled for a blood test. During my appointment, my doctor shared I was the fourth person to be seen, in recent history, for the same circumstances.

First time whole blood donor. Gentleman taking my blood stuck me in what he determined to be a good vein. Unfortunately, once inserting needle he did not get any blood flowing. He moved it side-to-side to try and hit the vein and when he had no success called in someone more experienced. The person called in to assist was able to get blood flowing my moving the needle up-and-down. All this was uncomfortable.

I had a terrible experience as the first time donor in this center. Inexperienced nurse ruined my hand for finding the vein. She called someone to tell her every step, and at the end they said we can’t complete the process. Half of my arm is still black because of the terrible job after 4 days! I thought it is only my blood that they need to test, but it seems to me that I was also a test case for the inexperienced nurse!

Say emergency shortage of blood so I make appointment to donate blood through their website. Their office hours is until 2:45 pm on the website arrive 2 pm as scheduled but the door is closed. The office hour indicated at the center is till 1:30 pm for Saturday Jun 12. 3 other donor wonder at the door for 5-10 mins we make calls but can reach only voicemail. Wasting our time

I had made an appointment to donate blood on Sunday, but I felt unwell, so I called to cancel, but no one answered the phone and I got a voice message saying that the center is not open on Sundays. Also, I could not cancel from the website either.

Clean and comfortable place to donate blood. The center was beautiful! The snack options were great– even gluten free options. Highly recommend donating here. Also they now complete COVID19 antibody tests on donations now
