Went to donate today. Waited because the system was down. As it came back up 2 other people walked in. They waited 10 minutes because they did not have an appointment. The workers apologized to them and took them ahead of me. I have given at this center for over 3 years

The entire staff was wonderfully pleasant from check in to walking out the door. I donated blood and received an awesome shirt (swag). I would definitely recommend TBC if your healthy and well enough to donate.

First time donating at The Blood Connection ( new to the area ). I donated at the mobile bus that was set up in the Grumpy Monk-North Myrtle Beach parking lot ( 6/22/2023 )Everything went great the 2 technicians Robyn and Kristy were awesome they took really good care of me. The whole process was fast and easy I was in and out.

I always make an appointment when my school sets up a mobile donation event. I also always make my appointment for the very first time slot (7am). Today, like always, the mobile unit showed up late and I was unable to donate at my appointment time (today the bus PULLED UP at 7:03am and of course they have to get everything set up). This is EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL. I could understand if this only occurred once or twice, but this happens every, single time.

Unprofessional. My friend tried to donate blood during their CCU blood drive today; The person didn’t know to tighten the band enough to be able to find her vein.. then stuck her TWICE and she was unable to give blood. She stuck the ENTIRE long needle into her arm.. now she is in horrible pain and can barely move her arm. Definitely hit something it was not supposed to. Absolutely unacceptable and unprofessional. Do not allow people to take blood if they don’t know what they’re doing.

Find another donation company. Last time the staff on the donation bus made us feel like they didn’t want people donating blood (their job). A lot of comments that were not welcoming and huffing and puffing under the breath. It seems very unprofessional. Today we had one of the first appointments and it was already an hour wait. What is the point of having an appointment? I’ll use Red Cross from now on.

First employee did not wear gloves when sticking me with the needle. Employee went in and falsified my documents changing answers. Employee was well aware that I was a plasma donor because I just gave plasma a couple days before coming in I told her yet she forgot to inform me that I won’t be able to give plasma for over 57 days. The blood bank needs to be shut down and investigated very carefully I don’t think I’m an isolated case. Way too many mistakes way too many sneaky mistakes. I think this employee has done it multiple times I don’t think I’m an isolated case once again I am stating that I need people to come forward that’s disgusting how they do it to get money they lie and they cheat the system and they cheat the person donating.

It’s just so sad how the employees are treated so many have left due to the management that is over them. I am an ex employee who left on my own terms due to discrimination and harassment they created such a hostile work environment for staff members of color
