My donation was facilitated by nurse Mikayla (? spelling). She addressed each and every issue in a timely fashion, so I was always comfortable. This standard of practice will result in continuing to donate

These folks are all rock stars!! I could not have asked for a better experience. Even though they are obviously short staffed, everyone is smiling and attentive. The work done here is more than important, it is vital. The crew here today is clearly a team. They communicate efficiently and move as a cohesive unit. As a donor, I am impressed. As a recipient, I am forever grateful!

I find this new office to be excellent, with the same crew from the old Hendersonville office, so no problems at all. Above all, it’s for a good cause. So come on in, roll up your sleeve & stay a little while! It’s more than worth it.

I was treated like I did not matter. I trusted you and I should not have. I walked in your bus happy. I walked out furious. My anger was about how I had been treated. How did the Blood Connection make it so that a highly motivated donor changes to someone who will never use nor recommend your services? This is what happened: The pre-donation screening was perfect and exactly what I expected. The screening was handled professionally and in the standard way I expected. (I have donated blood dozens of times) Once in the donation chair, things changed. I first noted the person cleaning the area she intended to stick was not paying attention. Instead of focusing on what she was doing, she was focused on something happening in the back of the donation bus. This lack of attention continued when it came time to insert the needle. She missed the vein. It has happened before when I have donated and the person lacks experience. It is no big deal to me. Each time before, the person has acknowledged that it wasn’t a good stick and said something professional like, “I want to do this again….” or “do you mind of I try your other arm?” It has happened as least twice and I think my reply was “no problem.” But not with the butchers of the Blood Connection. (My entire office saw the giant blood bruise on my arm the next day and now my co-workers refer to you as the Butchers) So when she misses the vein (I could tell right away). she leaves, saying nothing. A new person comes, peals of the holding tape, looks at the needle and asks “Does it hurt?” I say no, because it doesn’t. She tells the original, “I think it’s all right,” (again says nothing to me) Then the original person BLAMES me. (please reread that again) She then has a conversation about me in front of me like I’m not there. They move a few feet toward the back of the bus so I can no longer see them but continue talking about me. The original says, “It’s not going to work, I know because I have done so many.” Neither one has said anything directly to me. I actually think, If anything was not going correctly, certainly they would clue me in. No. They are not. A few minutes later, the second person (they are both unable to say the word, “please”) without a word, pulls the needle out and orders me to hold a bandage on the site. Then she starts giving me post-donation instructions. As I said, I’ve donated before. I have big fat veins and it takes usually about 5-10 minutes to donate. But it has been maybe 3 minutes. I get taped up and ordered to move to another chair. “Move over there,” she pointed. (again, I’m ordered to do it) As I sit in my new location my taped up arm is starting to hurt. I have been treated so poorly. I ask, “Am I done?” And then both of them from the back of the bus loudly say, “NO! We need to…” I didn’t wait for the nonsense they were saying to finish before I responded, “Where you planning on asking me?” Then to put a nice finish on the unprofessional behavior by the Butchers of the Blood Connection, the second person shouted a disingenuous, “sorry!” But in a louder voice, the first one, the one who stuck me, blamed me. How can a highly motivated person walk in to your donation bus and walk out where NO ONE benefits? You were left with useless biomedical waste product which is what you created by your lack of bed side manner/professionalism. Now ask yourself, “Why would a person walk in one door happy and leave so very unhappy? In almost all cases, it was the way they were treated. Thank you for your time. I hope you can now see why I would not recommend you.
