After recently having a poor experience donating blood, I decided to try this plasma donation center instead. I came in on a Sunday as a first time donor and was able to get out in 2.5 hours. Several of the donors were talking and laughing, and the employees were professional and comforting. It was a very pleasant experience for my first time.

This place has gone way down hill. You now have to make an appointment in order to donate – however, you are 9/10 never seen at your set time, so it’s pointless. Then, you have to sit and wait to be seen for over 30+ minutes. It takes longer to pass the vitals, than the donation itself—So you’ll be SOL if your protein isn’t high enough, because you’d have wasted all that time. My appt was for 4:15, it is now 5:09 and I have still not been stuck. Especially with the lower payment rates now from before, I wouldn’t say it’s worth it.

I would like to change my review because they keep getting worse. I was treated poorly after making a complaint about not being able to make an appointment. Wanted to try to make one for today as well, but of course again no one answers and I have been calling for 6 hours. I went online and it said someone would contact me momentarily but that’s been over 3 hours ago. I’m DEFINITELY changing who I donate with because this is just utterly RIDICULOUS!!! Wish I could leave negative stars because this is the most unprofessional company I have had the displeasure of working with

I had my first appointment here today and was pleasantly surprised with the professionalism, cleanliness, and overall experience. The staff engages with you and makes you feel welcomed and appreciated. I was previously donating plasma elsewhere and I’m not going to use this part to badmouth them but that other place started to rub me the wrong way. I felt very good about coming to Talecris and becoming a donor. I look forward to future donations.

IF YOU ARE NOT A BRAND NEW DONOR (AS IN YOU HAVE NEVER DONATED AT A GRIFOLS CENTER BEFORE) THE NEW DONOR BONUS DOES NOT APPLY TO YOU. YOU WILL ONLY GET $100 ON YOUR FIRST DONATION! If they tell you otherwise, it is a lie. You would be considered a “TREATED NEW DONOR”, NOT a new donor. Making this public so people can stay well informed and dont waste their time.

When I arrived, the staff gave me a list of medications that would make me ineligible to donate, which would have been helpful if the list had been comprehensive! I wasted time registering as a new donor only to find out my medication DID make me ineligible to donate, even though it wasn’t on their restricted list! This wasted both of our time.

This place is poorly run. Had an appointment at 1:30, showed up 20 minutes early. Checked in at desk, I asked if I could ask the Dr or someone with medical knowledge a question before starting was rudely told to take a seat. After waiting an hour and a half with nothing said to me- I went and asked if they’d forgotten about me. They had !! Finally took me back, quick interview and finger stick. Was told AGAIN I could not ask a medical question. Sat back down, more waiting. FINALLY got called into a room. Do not know who the young man was or his job title/position there cause he never introduced himself. He finally allowed me to ask my question- can I donate since I am on eliquis ? He did not know what eliquis was or the answer to my question. I would think him being employed by a blood gatherer he would be aware of one of the worlds top blood thinners but I guess not. He took a big notebook out and started thumbing through it, 10 minutes of this he shuts it and says no you can’t donate. It’s after 4 by now so I’ve wasted all that time for nothing. So frustrating. I should also mention- when I first arrived I walked into a room full of employees and patients being screamed and cursed at by an obviously deranged person. No employee was able to calm him, or knew procedures to try and de-escalate the situation. So we are all subjected to cursing and threats until he finally leaves on his own. I should of left at that point, especially seeing as how people who walked in an hour or so after me were immediately seen. If you want to donate plasma I suggest ANYWHERE but here. Poorly run with no visible management on duty.

I came in at 10 something today, was told the new donor system was down, to come back later. That I was okay with. My friend and I come back later that day, I hand Talitha Escobar with the orange nails my ID and SSN. She tells me my id is expired with an attitude. Ok. I go online to renew it and they send me a temporary ID card digitally and I print it off. (I was told it had to be on paper not digital.) Another nurse who was professional and very welcoming helped me this time around. She did the vain check, then she took me back for registration, part way through the registration, another nurse cracked the door and said they need her on the floor. She apologized to me and said she’ll be right back. Talitha Escobar walks in and takes over. First thing she does is look at my form of id and say who accepted this? In the end I was told my temporary form of ID, was invalid and I can’t donate. The problem wasn’t being told my temporary form of ID was invalid. The problem was her attitude and how hostile she was, I let my friend know that I felt targeted because after I came to sit down and wait for my friend, Talitha Escobar went back to what she was supposed to be doing and stayed there the remaining time til closing. I plan on contacting corporate because this is completely unacceptable.

Poor operation, no better than the New Bern Ave location that recently closed down. My situation, they tested my protein levels and determined it was low. I was told to call back around 7-10 days for results. I called back 7 days later, the test results were good. Now, the doctor needs to sign off, he only comes one day a week. Three weeks later, I’m now waiting for the Quality Control department to sign off after the doctor. Sounds like a bunch of game to me, but yet they claim donations are needed. Go figure!
