I hate to give a bad review to a community service organization, but I feel I have to. I’ve donated 48 times through the American Red Cross (received my 6-gallon pin), but had to come here when in Rhode Island for four months of work. Both times, the phlebotomist could not draw properly that prevented a donation. On top of that, the second time, the staff were so unfriendly as if I was bothering them by donating. I would not feel comfortable returning.

I love this place. Yes, I know it’s weird to love a blood center, but I genuinely do. My girlfriend and I are both O-, and have donated quite a bit here; she donating whole blood and I donating double red.

I have been a donor for seven years at the blood center. I love donating blood and platelets every other month. The check in and out is simple.

I love donating blood and helping everyone out… but this is kind of frustrating. Get a call 2 weeks ago that I should come donate, schedule an appointment, and then I show up and actually I’m not eligible for another 5 days. What was the point of calling and telling me to come in if I can’t actually come in??

Donating blood helps other people and it may be good for your health too! For example men who donate blood regularly have been shown to be less likely to have a heart attack or a stroke as they age. I always have a great experience here, everyone is professional and friendly. What are you waiting for?

Surprisingly rude and sloppy, and this is especially disappointing because of the current shortage. Both the assistant checking my iron and phlebotomist left me bloody and i had to actually ask for a wipe even though the blood smeared finger and arm was obvious. The phlebotomy needs work, the person went through my vein and cut my double red donation short because of it. Wasn’t at all a friendly or welcoming individual who did it either. I’ll probably not be going back to this location. Only giving this place two stars as opposed to one because at least i got the equivalent of a single whole blood versus nothing at all.

Very nice facility, especially if the aroma of cookies baking doesn’t bother you. You could probably lock a bike here in the covered garage area. Don’t know if I’d lock a very expensive one, though. (Lots of foot traffic so maybe it would be OK.) About a half mile from a bus stop. Staff all very friendly and efficient, of course. I’d expect nothing less from RIBC.

I love donating blood at the RIBC! The entire facility was recently renovated, so it looks and feels more like a spa than a blood bank. The people are all very friendly and accomodating, and they have NEVER missed. And they give you juice and cookies and crackers after you donate. Save lives AND get free cookies! What more could you ask for?

I have donated blood many times, and this is my favorite place to go, they make you feel so comfortable, Maria, the one who drew my platelets, really made it a great experience. Will come again when I am back in Rhode Island.

RIBC upper management are clueless, they only care about their fat bonuses every year. Lisa has not idea of what is what or who is who.
