I’ve been giving whole blood for years but usually via One Blood busmobile. I decided to become a platelet donor since the need is so great. I’ve always had a good experience giving whole blood. I recently gave whole blood and inquired about what’s involved with donating platelets and ultimately made my appointment and got further information about it and showed up for my appointment and was greeted with, “Is this your first time giving platelets?” I said yes, and was told, “you do realize it takes 2 hours.” I said yes, I did my research. An hour later I finally got hooked up with a series to watch on TV. I realized I was on the wrong episodes and the gal informed me they had other donors coming in, which meant to me that I was just taking up way too much of their time. When I was finally done two hours later, they unhooked me and said you can go to the lobby for a snack. A few minutes later one of them said, “oh! here’s your cup.” And that was the end of the interchange. Although I was checked on throughout the two hour donation, I felt it was a very impersonal experience, not very friendly and definitely not very appreciated for the 3 hours of my time I gave to give platelets. I’m not going to let this deter me from giving platelets again and am hoping for a much friendly interchange next time.

The best vibe ever! The ladies made me feel so welcome, safe and conducted themselves with professionalism from the minute I walked in. Pearl is by far the best and i didn’t feel a thing! Ms Jayce and Patricia also repeatedly checked on me with genuine concern. I LOVE ONE BLOOD 🙂

Very Professional, Very Friendly, Extremely Welcoming for a first time donor. I was nervous because it was my first time donating, as soon as I walked in I felt very Welcome. Very Experienced staff, I did not feel a thing. A 10 out of 10!!! I would definitely Recommend this location.

I love the staff here! For a whole blood donation, give yourself at least 45 minutes to answer all the questions, take BP & hemoglobin, and the donation itself. They always have little perks for donating (today it was a $10 e-gift card and a blanket!). Glad to see they’ve found a permanent location here now. Very clean!

One Blood is the best. I have been going every 2 months to One Blood for many years. I actually enjoy my visits each and every time I’m there.. Everyone working there is always very professional and friendly to everyone there.

I’ve been going to the BloodOne location on Commercial Blvd. in Fort Lauderdale regularly for some months now. The usual staff (Renee “Love”, Shavon, Christina, and Michael are terrific. So very nice and make a “chore” into a pleasure. Well, today, I met Patricia (on loan from the Pompano office) and Miss Joyce (on loan from the Plantation office). Well! Miss Joyce is over-the-top, one-of-kind extraordinary. (Sorry “Love”, but you have competition in the “wonderful” category.) I never imagined giving blood could be so much fun and convenient as these staff members make it. They make me feel like a king (so, a jab in the arm is so worth it)!

I have been greeted and cared for by Ranae, Clara and team every time I come in. I am a big guy but very nervous when giving blood. They are experts in patient care and take such good care of the clients/patients. You are in the best hands when you come in.

Terrible. My second (and last) time there. Always asking for more paperwork from my doctor. As if I have him personally on speed dial. They never offer to talk to my doctors staff to get exactly what they want. Once you’re off the phone, they want you to call them back and ask for the same thing only in a different form. Rigid. Bullheaded. Nothing is for the customer. I called the corporate office for help–no one was available. I understand needing to follow protocol, but you could have your diagnosis engraved in stone, and they would still refuse it.

Second visit there – my first time with a particular nurse, but 2nd interaction as my partner saw her last visit. She is very by the book, by the SOP and even when you complain about the intense scrubbing she has to do for an exact amount of time, she just dismisses you. The needle hurt this last visit, and that is in my past not an issue, but then when she pulled it out, it bled a lot (also very rare for me), enough so that I had to sleep with bandage to make sure wasn’t still bleeding. Will not be returning to this particular one blood for my therapeutic visits, but will try some of the higher rated OneBlood centers.
