I had a very negative experience at this location, and it was directly related to the incompetence of an individual. I was being triaged by an individual that has no business evaluating a potential donor. The negative situation had to do with my iron readings. When the individual took my reading for the first time it was 12.6. They have this ridiculous rule that the iron has to be 13.0 or above, even though 10.0 is considered normal. If they get a reading below 13, then they heat your thumb up with a mini hot pack. They did do this, and took another reading in 5 minutes. My second reading was 11.5. This is an impossible scenario, and is directly related to the inaccuracies of their equipment. There is no medical possibility of an iron reading dropping 1.1 in 5 minutes, even after heating the thumb up for 5 minutes previous to taking the second reading. This is directly related to the equipment that is being utilized at this location. The technician then said. “ I am sorry but you can not donate.” She was inept in understanding the readings. Iron does not drop 1.1 in 5 minutes. As someone that has been in the medical field for over 40 years, I would strongly recommend staying away from the Pompano and Boca facility, because this woman works at both of these facilities. However, she mostly is at the Glades Road Donation center. She should be fired immediately for her lack of knowledge in the medical arena, and her lack of understanding medical readings. I have moved on from dealing with incompetency from these type of individuals.

I have donated blood several times at the Pompano Beach Donation Center, the most recent being yesterday. The staff has always been courteous, professional, and efficient. Yesterday I was in and out in less than 35 minutes (whole blood donation). Thanks to Sonia and the other professionals there who provide this vital service in a most helpful manner.

Absolutely my favorite Oneblood location ! Everyone was friendly and helpful. I brought my fiancé in for a donation and Patricia was awesome ! She was awesome with my fiancé and amazingly kind to me and my children! I am so grateful for people like her ! We couldn’t be more happy with our trip there yesterday ! Thank you so much to all of the amazing employees! We will be back in 2 months for the next donation.

I’ve donated at once before and it’s pretty cool I got just a blanket out of it and some crackers.. recently I was told by one of the people on the one blood Big Red Bus and I was told that i would get free movie tickets two at that and that’s pretty cool you know i have a down syndrome aunt so cool way to donate and enjoy a movie with her after..this is were i feel a little disappointed..I call the OneBlood Center and ask if it’s possible to give me the location for the OneBlood bus that I was told their giving out free movie tickets and this lady Sonya..not sure if I spelled the name correctly but she answered my question with “really that’s what you want me to do I need you to come to the center “..umm last I checked you guys are all one blood ..why wouldn’t you help me ..
