Usually donate on the buses. Tried to walk in on my lunch break hoping they would be able to take me. There were two people with appointments, which I understand. But there were 4 ladies at the triage desk, one of which was actually working.

First time potential blood donor at one blood. This is one cold, impersonal place. I will take my blood and myself elsewhere. Also, read carefully the questions they present on their tablet and choose wisely.

My first donor experience was after Pulse. I was compelled to go after seeing the lines of people donating, and I’m glad I did! Since then I’ve been going regularly and now donate platelets, which is a more difficult process than whole blood. Platelet donors can only donate at a center, and I will not go anywhere else than the Villages. The ladies there are warm, friendly, and good at their jobs. I’m terrified of needles but they put me at ease and make me feel comfortable. And appreciated as well! They’re the best!

Tried to donate for my wife who has cancer and needed a transfusion. Their only response was “Ok”. I have donated almost 8gl., this is 1st time I wanted to designate or even needed blood. Disappointed!!!
