Today I stopped by to give blood after work. Paulina was the BEST at inserting AND taking out the needle! I was very impressed with her skills, and she was very personable by talking and keeping me company while the blood was flowing.

Today I visited OneBlood located on US-1 in St. Augustine to ask some questions and gather information since I’ve never donated before. I was politely greeted by Jordan who was super professional, funny and he was able to answer all my questions. He’s very knowledgeable and I can tell he knows his job well. He talked me through the process and made me more comfortable. I definitely look forward to coming back to see Jordan and give my first donation.

They want you to donate, but when I stop by their buses, they turn me away because I don’t have an appointment. I guess they don’t need donations as much as they emphasize.

I stopped by after 2pm unexpectedly one day due to a family emergency. The gift of blood & platelets had helped our family in ICU so I decided to drive down the street from Flagler Hosp & give back & pay it forward. The great experience I had with Jordan P really made me want to go back and donate regularly. He took the extra time to be sure I understood the process and told me about the app and my stats. He didn’t rush me altho I could tell he was busy and multi-tasking & their day was coming to a close w their last blood draw at 4pm (don’t quote me!). I can imagine sometimes the reasons people visit a blood bank are traumatic and it’s reassuring that there are good people out there like Jordan who take the extra time to make the experience a pleasure and stress-free. At the end of the day, one person can make a difference and relationships are what is really important in life and it’s nice to see Jordan making a difference by just taking an extra minute with me. My mom would have liked him bc she would have noticed his kindness. Now that mom is traveling a new realm, I often wonder who she came across during her earth days and if they were kind…. #inspire #bekind #giveblood #giveplatelets #oneblood

I have given blood many time over 30 years without a problem. Today was the first time that it hurt when the technician Trish inserted the needle. And there was more pain when I was supposed to squeeze. Then they said the flow was too low and the donation could not be completed. And on top of that I would not get the Cholesterol check or the Covid test. I guess there is no point in ever going back here.
