My first time there was a bad experience but the staff was so nice! The phlebotomist hit my vein or artery and I was bleeding under my skin. I took care of it at home, resting, used ice pack, and hot rag. It’s finally starting to heal somewhat. I plan on going to the Dr to get her input. I will be back because the staff is so nice and helpful.

I was in need of some money for my vehicle in the shop. I was thinking about what I could pawn. Then friend told me I would get money for a blood donation. I went into OctaPharma, the place was very clean, organized and very professional. I got treat very welcome, get paid and on my way feeling good because of the money and the donation helps many times more than I imagined.

I’ve loved a lot of the people here and my donations go smoothly. However I did have an issue with a phlebotomist last Monday morning on the 21st. Her name is Jen I believe, shes an older white lady. She stuck my arm really bad to where it was bleeding while i was still in the chair donating and I never had that happen before and it felt like someone stabbed me. She did the same thing to the man next to me and she came off snarky like she knew what she was doing and brushed the complaints off. And when the guy next to me had his eye closed she came up and smacked his donor chair which made me jump and him, I didn’t like the way she treated him. I would recommend someone ask her to be a bit kinder and gentler. Other than that thankyou for the services always happy to come here!

They are short staffed and there is always a long wait. I wasted my time and mileage trying to get there first thing in the morning and the ppl outside say they are not opening until 7:45 bc they don’t have the staff. Hire the proper amount of staff ppl!

I have been to two other donation centers that plus the Great Southern location. I came in on a Sunday as a new donor and the process was pretty fast. I came in again for my 3rd donation on a Sunday, and was told my protein levels were too low to donate, the cut off is 6% and mine was 5.9%. I have never had that happen before. They took my blood and told me the results would be 7-10 days to get back. I called on the 8th day, and talked to someone from the call center I guess it is. They tried to call them and couldn’t get ahold of anyone. So now it is Thursday, and I have called like 10 plus times and keep getting the call center, and none of them have been able to get ahold of the plasma center. I wish they had an easier way to get the results, or let the call center give the results. Other than that, I like the location. The people are nice, and usually it’s not too long of a wait.

Most of my experiences have been positive. The only knock I have, and it’s a fairly big one, is that every time I have been in to donate (it’s been 5+ times now) is that they only ever have one person screening. This is where the biggest delay is. I understand they can get busy. But they seem to always be short staffed. Once you get through screening, it’s a breeze and everyone is professional and it’s definitely a nice place to donate. But the screening process is frustrating to say the least.

I have been coming here for about 6 years with a gap of maybe a 2 year span between. It used to be great. It has gotten worse over the years. Only one person at the booth doing assessments, I waited an hour and a half for 2 people in front of me (the place surprisingly wasn’t busy at all, only 1 person in the waiting area and the 2 in line) to get processed, then I sat in the waiting area for another hour in which I was the only person in the area waiting to be seated/stuck. About 6 people show up after me and after another 20 minutes a lady who must have been on break finally comes back and called everyone but me. When we all tell her I had been waiting there and was there before then she just says “sorry I’ll take care of them then get to you”. No thank you I don’t have 5+hours to wait for an already lower donation amount than other centers. It wouldn’t have been that long of a wait had the phlebotomist that were on the floor actually did their job instead of standing around talking, walking around looking clueless and ignoring no flow lights and finished lights and literally moving as slow as they possibly could which seemed intentional, like they were trying to make the line long so people would not come in to donate or would get impatient and leave. The ladies that are normally here when I come are always hustling and busting setting up machines etc, actually trying to do their job, but the crew they had today was completely horrible and worked with no sense of urgency or organization whatsoever.

Doors didn’t open until 10:00 am on Sunday due to no stickers. No one came out to tell us until 830 should have gave us a express pass or something else for waiting in line since 600 am.

Don’t come here if you’re on Suboxone or lie and don’t tell them. Red Cross says it’s fine, but they said no. Went through all their assessments and was honest about my meds and they rejected me after wasting hours of my time. The nurse was a judgmental wench. Never recommending this place to anyone ever.
