Worse experience at a plasma center. I was told to walk around to get my heart rate up, when I return they tell me I’m disqualified because I walked outside. Even though I expo to then that the tech told me to walk around, they responded with “ we didn’t know the whole story before we cancelled your donation, come back tomorrow”. I then return the next day, they’re all apologetic from the day prior except for a different manager being there. This manager walks up to me during my screening process and starts giving me attitude about how I walked outside the day prior and says the notice is in the binder. I asked her to show me and she wasn’t able to show me where it says to ignore the instructions of the employee and stay inside at all times. After I proved her wrong, I waited to get a physical, the tech checks my heart rhythm and says “perfect sounds good to me” but I tell her that I have an irregular/regular heart rhythm. ( which means it’s a regular rhythm for me but not common) but the healthcare professionals at octapharma never heard of it, then they listen to my heart for 10mins straight, attempt to call two doctors(no one answers), then tell me that I can’t donate until I get approval from an outside doctor. WHAT?! I’m the one who told you about the diagnosis, I’ve donated to octapharma and CSL plenty of times before, I played sports my whole life and was a college athlete. Instead of them checking my previous records they tell me to leave. This was personal and I’m not sure why. I don’t know anyone who works there. Now I have to wait to switch locations to CSL.

Clean facility. Really friendly staff. Bring your own blankets because they do not provide and you may get cold afterwards. They definitely could do better with the snacks they offer. Hardly anything to choose from. So you may want to bring a snack with you for afterwards, just in case. Lots of places in the area to get something to eat afterwards though.
