The process was super easy and smooth. Although I ended up feeling very sick from donating, my experience was still a good one. The staff went above and beyond to make sure I was okay and for that I am so grateful (:

Slow and non-attentive.

I donated in December and some of the staff members were very rude and trying to rush even though there weren’t even that many people donating. The woman who actually stuck me for the donation was nice but when she removed the needle she somehow withdrew the needle so weird (it felt like she almost put the safety in the needle while it was still in my vein?) and it felt like the tore something, I was bleeding heavily when I normally don’t at all and the site was sore for the rest of the day which again has never happened before. The bleeding stopped with maybe 5 minutes of pressure.

This is the Second time this year where I had a 2:15 appointment (which is the last appt before they close on a Saturday ) I felt unwelcomed, and rushed. They are not friendly and “conveniently” both times my hemoglobin was 2 points lower than the requirement so I couldn’t stay to donate. Wish I would have asked to see the number on the machine because I Definitely got the feeling they made it up so they could go home and not get stuck staying later for me. Last time I will ever go to this location.

This was my first time donating platelets. I had a great experience all around. The staff was very attentive and had answers to any of my concerns. The reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because I had an appointment at 11:15 and didn’t get called for 45 minutes. There were walk-ins ahead of me. My concern there was that I timed my donation around pick-up from school. However, they assured me I would make it, and I did.

The staff was friendly but they were in a rush to close. My appt was at 1p.m. I told them last time I donated blood, it took an hour. They were joking around and said this time it’ll take 2 hrs. But not b/c they close at 2p.m. i went on a Saturday. B/c they were in a rush to close they hurt me pretty badly. Every min or so someone came over to move around the needle in arm. The result… photo will show my experience. Although the staff was friendly, they made my experience here very badly. Instead of telling me to reschedule so they didnt have to rush, they took my blood and made me feel bad b/c I don’t know if I should ever donate my blood again now. My first experience was not good either, but they leave my arm bruised b/c they let the blood come out slowly until I was done. Instead of poking around the needle in arm. But this time… this is traumatizing for me…

The staff are super nice, but there are a few who aren’t experienced enough and frequently make mistakes which can be scary.

I tried to donate blood, but they were claiming there were too many people. I did not see too many people. This would have been my first time, but, now, no more.

Cookies and tea after you donate and one other important thing….. what was it…. oh yeah, providing a possibly life saving service for the community. Donating whole blood, plasma or platelets can have a positive impact on your friends and neighbors!
