The staff is super friendly and helpful. They make sure you’re comfortable and I live my soda n cookies while I donate.

Great spot to donate. Overall experience was wonderful. I have been donating here for a while. Woman at the front desk is so kind an so is the rest of the staff save one which leads me to my only complaint: Need to have the Catina Lady show a little more appreciation for those of us who are there donating for free. The woman can be very rude. Previously, there wasn’t staff at the cantina afterwards and you would go and get your own drinka and snacks and sit down at the table. Now, you are not allowed to take items out of the refrigerator and she will let you know it. I got yelled at (yes, yelled) because I had my legs crossed and was leaning back. She sternly explained to me that I need to have my chair pulled in and elbows on the table. Pointed out a notice to the staff that my back was to that is how I needed to be seated. She will write your time that you are allowed to leave on your paperwork and you better have it ready to show her. I do understand that they are regulated for their policies but a little compassion goes a long way. This is the 3rd time I’ve encountered her and this isn’t an isolated incident. Makes me hesitant to go back.

I was there about a week ago and it was my first time giving blood. Even though it was the end of the day for them and you could see that they were wrapping up after a long day (which isn’t a negative thing, i understand we are all people and have lives outside of work), everyone there kept things very professional but were extremely welcoming and friendly. They all made me feel like a returning friend rather than just a doner. I had an outstanding time there and look forward to returning.

The easiest way to see how good M-K is at what they do, from a customer service perspective is to first donate blood at an American Red Cross donor site or drive, and then try M-K. I am NOT saying anything negative about ARC- both of these valuable organizations provide critical services to our communities, and they do it well. But after moving to the Lehigh Valley and experiencing the M-K process, it’s clearly a friendlier, more comfortable, more pleasant experience- hands down. Additionally, the ability to pre-screen at home via the internet is a huge value to expediting the process once you arrive on site.

Ended giving blood in 1996 when the center was Miller Memorial. Volunteered there too. Clean and safe environment. Love the center as a family. I have fond memories as the nurses stuck me with the needle and thinking of getting a cookie at the end. What else is there to life. Do I need to say more.
