I was not happy with the staff there. I felt like I was interrupting their social hour by coming in to donate blood. I waited at the door for well over a minute till one of the 10 employees in the building came to let me in. Then the receptionist was not friendly nor did I get a hello. It just didn’t seem welcoming at all. Then the tech who checked my blood count and pressure when she came to get me said good after noon. I said it back then when she thought I didn’t speak she was like GOOD AFTERNOON and had a huge attitude in her tone. I get the mask make perception hard. But when someone is coming to donate blood professionalism is everything. kindness is everything. I’m donating me time and something in need. I am O+ and I got a notification of the need for my blood type. Thankfully my iron was low that day so i was not able to donate. because I will not being going back. I wanted to walk out and leave… im glad my iron count was low.

Nice clean facility with excellent staff. I’ve donated 150+ units, usually platelets. I used to donate at ARC but found LifeSouth to be better overall. Do I just come here now.

My husband has been giving platelets for years at Red Cross but has recently been bruising badly on one arm, making him reluctant to go. Someone suggested he try LifeSouth and we wish we had gone there long ago. They only use one arm instead of both, so no need to bother with the arm that’s been bruising. And no bruising on the arm they did use. Plus the people were just nicer and brought him drinks and snacks. They even invited me to sit and watch a movie (since they weren’t busy). We’re going there from now on.

I like to give blood on Sunday, usually pretty quite. Friendly staff. Quick and easy, you answer all those questions on a tablet now! As a bonus you get a t-shirt for every donation.

I would like to donate red blood cells and this is the 2nd time on a row one of their machines have been inoperable and its usually the same way with their bus
