Kentucky Blood Center is a community-based nonprofit organization that provides lifesaving blood products to more than 70 hospitals throughout the Commonwealth of Kentucky. We strive to ensure that every hospital we serve has access to a safe and abundant blood supply. To do so, we rely on generous volunteer blood donors to provide 400 pints of blood every day to meet patient needs.
We envision to be an integral and valued part in healthcare and to support our local communities in any way we can by constantly innovating, developing and changing to improve the blood center in the best way we can.

Definitely a 5 star experience for donating blood or platelets. Professional, friendly and efficient staff willing to share information, and they never seem to be in a hurry. A large space in a strip mall, the interview rooms are really set up well. The snack and donation spaces are clean and well lit, definitely set up for donors. For platelet donations they only use one arm (no two arm option), which works out really well

I’ve given almost 4 gallons of blood (30 times). This place is great. It’s nice to get the free stuff but also the staff very personable and caring. I sometimes have a slight reaction to giving but they always make sure I’m comfortable and never leave without a snack.

I usually donate at the red cross, but I decided to come here because of their extended hours. Though we had to readjust my injection site, they were very gentle and took good care of me. The phlebotomists were sweet and made small talk, which helped calm my nerves that I sometimes have. I have felt very rushed and impersonal at the Red Cross.

Had an appointment to Donate Blood at the Middletown Center I got stuck in traffic on I-71, so I call to let them know that I was in traffic but was on my way . I arrived at 2:02 pm, after sitting in traffic for 40 minutes the door was locked the tech opened the door I told her that I had call she talked to her Supervisor. Told me that I would have to come back another day to Donate, it takes me an hour to get there. So I’m Guessing That they don’t need Blood donations that bad to turn someone away. I was working on my 2nd gallon of donations.

I’ve been several times and each was fun and inviting. The people are very friendly, knowledgeable and make me feel like I’m #1. The environment is clean, organized and relaxing. Not overcrowded with free WiFi, snacks and drinks.

This was my first time and I was looking forward to this day.I want to be a regular donor.I went to Middletown and the person ,her name was Teresa had zero people skills.She was to business and did give any direction to what I needed to do or what She was going to do.NO small talk or friendly anything.Then I stead of using the best place to take my blood she took a small one and it hurt and started to hurt before she took out.Not a good experience at all.

In short. Gave them all my information, then sat down and answerd all my questions (no issues, im healthy) and waited for someone to return. The lady then took my temp and checked my hemoglobin. No problems everything looks good. She gets blood bags out and lables all the bag and the test tubes.

Very efficient. The staff might try to be a bit more engaging. The staff just weren’t as friendly as other times I have given blood. Might have just been a hectic day for them.
