I booked an appointment online at 1215. I arrived at 1215. I wasn’t taken back for Qs and iron check until 1248 because I constantly got skipped over. 3 people who arrived AFTER me went BEFORE me. No staff seemed totally unaware of this or just didn’t care. There needs to be a better process. People’s time is precious.

I don’t know how else to get the attention of senior leadership other than leaving this review. I have tried contacting the direct line for Therapeutic Phlebotomies countless times over the past year and absolutely no one picks up the phone or responds to emails or voicemails – EVER. There is no possible way that anyone works in this department. Call the number off Google – no one answers there either. I try to book an appointment online but it doesn’t work there either. I am literally forced to drive out to the center to make appointments in person every single time. It is extremely frustrating and unethical. Directors/Site Managers – PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS!!

Pretty good and exciting experience. This place took me in very smoothly and everything went fast. Although, I’d admit that I was a bit nervous because this was my second time donating blood, my first time being at the old Red Cross building, they made sure that I was doing well and they always checked on me every few minutes, that made me feel safe and very relaxed. I was in and out in under an hour, pretty cool, I’ll definitely go back here again.

They really don’t like people here. At least two staffers were quite rude, they also leave the phone off the hook for some reason… I’m sorry blood is not exciting but people actually need it, so please try to be just a little nicer…

I had a bad experience while going to the donating event today, this was not my first time donating and unfortunately the staff wasn’t accommodating. My dad and my brother came with me this time and we didn’t make an appointment but the sign outside said walk-ins welcome. The staff didn’t accept us because we didn’t have an appointment and said that we would have to wait an hour because the people who did have appointments weren’t there yet. The place was not busy at all and there were beds free, not to mention the lady didn’t even explain to us properly why they could accept our donation. In the end, we decided to leave and we’re going to find somewhere else to donate since this was completely unnecessary and we are regular donators.

Everyone here is friendly and accommodating. The Phlebotomist here made me feel at ease! Wait time wasn’t that long, just make sure you have an appointment.

I had a bad experience in 2021 here after donating for 25 years, (most at woodburn), neither the phlebotomist nor his supervisor knew what they were doing. Months later my arm is still painful at times and strength is not recovered.

Came in expecting a typical blood donation experience and left with a sore arm and two days later, a huge bruise. The tech was not experienced and had trouble locating a good vein. Once he did, he jammed the needle in my arm like I have never felt before and nicked my vein. After several attempts to get the vein by moving the needle around, he called over the supervisor to help. He too could not get the needle in and looked at the tech with irritation and pointed to where he should have stuck me. The tech pulled the needle out and apologized for his failure and said I could try again in eight weeks. Very disappointed.

This would have been my 94th donation had it been successful. Once again, the phlebotomist was unable to make a satisfactory puncture and sent me away without collecting any blood. For the life of me, I don’t know what is so difficult about finding and puncturing a vein. Maybe poor training? Above everything else, that is what should be done well. Instead, there is always staff turnover and when I asked for a specific staffer (Steven), I was made to wait an excessive amount of time and then he botched the puncture in my arm. I have had quite enough of Inova BDS and their incompetence and this time will be my last donation – after 25 years.
