I donate platelets. I started doing this as 7 years ago I had to get blood after surgery. I enjoy giving blood back now. It is very clean there. The staff is great. I can help to save someone else with my blood.

It has taken me a while to get to this review because I was so disappointed and deeply traumatized after the experience I had with this “business”, not Im sure about the facility much but the staff (mainly one of them) and the “service” or relief that they called themselves offering to myself an my children was horrible. The experience I had was so degrading and disappointing. They started off seemingly like they would help in a major way. I had a large amount of damage done to my house due to an unexpected fire. It would take a while for the repairs to be done. They didn’t offer much for myself and my children to be able to stay at a decent hotel for more than a day or two. They also didn’t offer help with moving expenses while the repairs were being done.. I believe her name is Susan, she kept telling me, (the distraught at the time) client, that they operated off of the donated dollar and yadda yadda yadda .. things that during this time should not be shared with the person that going through a difficult time. My damages occurred in 2015, it took me almost four years to write a review, I am still deeply affected and upset about the whole experience. Susan was not compassionate by far. I had just had a new born, my baby was less than 2 weeks old and she did not care whether or not we had sufficient shelter during our time of need. My place was deemed unlivable by her staff and she still jad little to no consideration. I know people that have donated here (military vets that fought for and protected this so called country) and they would be appalled at the treatment that some receive when they go for relief. I could explain in very in depth and thorough detail but, I’d write a book, so I’ll stop here ..but it still bothers me deeply when I think of the treatment and “relief” I received.

I just went to give blood and noticed that they were not busy, which should have been a bad sign. I have always had to wait. The person assisting me, was not a nurse, because I noticed that immediately. Well, things just went from bad to worse. I guess I won’t be giving blood any time soon. Unless they get the nurses back in there to do the stocking. This girl got blood all over me. That has never happened to me in all the years I have been giving.

Nice facility but it has a serious health hazard in the restroom. It is unsafe to leave a can of disinfectant spray in the restroom for the public to use during business hours. Someone should read the MSDS. I used to work in allied healthcare. The sprays are an eye and respiratory irritant, can cause dizziness, trigger migraines, and are especially dangerous for people with copd and asthma. Even spray residue on parent’s clothing can cause a child in the car with them to have a asthma attack. Furthermore, these sprays only disinfect PRE CLEANED, hard, nonporous surfaces. A study at a French medical institution found that surviving c. diff. bacteria hat had been exposed to these kinds of sprays regrow a new colony of bacteria that are over 30 times more resistant to the spray and over 200 times more resistant to antibiotics given to humans. These sprays should not be in a public restroom, especially one in a place promoting good health practices and safety.

If I could give no stars, that would be the more appropriate “star” rating. Terrible attitudes and unfriendly staff to the people who are donating not only their product, but also their time. Also, it’s the only place where you can give blood in a room of other strangers next to you, but people you know are not allowed to talk to or be next to you without being threatened with a $10,000 fine for doing so claiming a confidentiality breech although authorized by the donor. I’d take my donations to a different provider.

went here years ago to donate but did it twice and was nicely and unexpectedly (non monetarily) compensated both times. It is always clean and easy to donate here and the staff is very nice as well.

If you read repeated reports like sixty minutes, 20 20 and others. the Red Cross uses incidents like Hurricane Harvey to line their own pockets. Little of this money will ever be seen by those who need it. It was reported that as the money is funneled from top through the various chapters each takes 20% , so three or four chapters will take 60% to 80% Many times the Red Cross has admitted to their wrong doing.

I had a wonderful experience at this donation center unlike the one in Fairfax VA. This one was clean, the people were friendly and they had snacks. I will come here though I live in Northern VA.
