Donated whole blood here and had a great experience. The nurses were friendly and professional. I’m absolutely terrified of needles, but the nurses took the time to explain what was happening and make the process simple and painless. Plus, they found my vein super easily! I will definitely be back in the future 🙂

I went to donate blood at this location. The place was cramped, equipment were shabby, staffs were not friendly, and they don’t even answer your questions like “how many units of blood I had?” etc. Total lack of communication and transparency. I did not feel safe and welcomed. There seems have no diversity in the staffing, entire staffs were one particular minority. And they all looked like stressed or upset. Saw them shouting at one senior gentleman for moving his hands while drawing blood. SMH…

Gave blood and sweat today. Just walking a short 5 minutes from grand central in New York heat will make you sweat. Maybe I’m just outta shape. But the blood I gave to the center. Came in to donate platelets. Figured I need more good karma in my life. Plus the $40 e-gift card was a good incentive too. Came in and they said I should donate blood and platelets since my blood type is rare…two hour process…really workin for those karma points today. All worth it though. Staff is helpful, knowledgeable and attentive. Stop by and save a life. Won’t hurt I promise.

Booked an appointment at this location for convalescent plasma donation. At first I was frustrated by the wait time, amount of people in facility, changing directions on where to have me wait by various staff members, and my general anxiety over needles. But I have to give a big thank you to Judy who went above and beyond to make sure I was okay during the donation process. She was busy…everyone in the facility was busy, but she took the time to me a squeeze ball out of a glove, water and medical tape because my hand was too small to fit the regular size ones. That really meant a lot to me. I’m so thankful for her and her colleagues keeping an eye on me when I started to turn pale. They didn’t rush me out, pretty sure I was in there for a solid 3 hr too. The donation itself only took 30 minutes. I’m not sure I’ll be returning anytime soon, but I highly recommend this location for anyone who recovered from COVID and wants to donate plasma.

The person responsible for scheduling appointments at this location should lose their job. I had an appointment and when I arrived I was told the wait time would be up to an hour after my scheduled appointment. Extremely unprofessional and uncoordinated staff. The queue system is miserable, nobody knows who’s up next to have their vitals checked before donating. My universal donor blood will never come back to this location. Do yourself a favor and save yourself the time and energy it takes to work with this donation center. There are probably other better donation centers in the city.

This week, I came for the third time to donate whole blood. I must say that my previous two experiences were quite unpleasant due to how rude and cold the staff was – read other people’s reviews. However, this week it was completely different, starting with being greeted politely by the young man in the reception. The screening nurse was very sweet and knowledgeable, like the other professional who drew my blood. They were checking on me at all times and provided a far better experience compared with the previous ones. I will be back hoping that the comfort and care will continue.

My appointment was completed in no more than 1.5 hours after I scheduled it. Mr. Kevin did an excellent job working the front desk. Mr. Jorge did a great job of measuring my final signs. Finally, and of course, Ms. Angeline Herrera did an excellent job of performing the blood donation.

i just went here today and im disappointed and upset. out of everyone in the room i was the only black person donating and i was being discriminated against. i did a platelet donation and the woman who helped set me up was very disrespectful and sarcastic for absolutely no reason. she tried to put the needle in on my right arm after i told her that a vein is hard to find on that arm and i’d prefer my left. she gave me a stank look and said “this is not the doctors office” very disrespectful of her. she didn’t explain the procedure in detail just began to stick the needle in me and do whatever. everyone else was getting checked up on during the duration of their donation BUT ME. after my donation, no one offered me anything to eat or drink but they privately offered everyone else in the room (we all ended near the same time) at first, i thought that it was normal because i gave a platelet donation instead of whole blood, but when i saw the white lady across from me being catered to, i was so upset and frustrated. i had to ASK to get something to eat or drink. they didn’t even offer me water. I am NEVER going back here. the discrimination was very clear.

I was a little worried because a lot of reviews mentioned very long wait time, but this was the fastest and most straightforward donation experience I’ve ever had (went late on a weeknight, so maybe it’s worse on weekends??) and the staff was fantastic Definitely will come back!!
