Update: Once you get through all the craziness of figuring out how to get that initial appointment the facility is great. I have been going for about 4 months now. The staff are all very friendly and professional. You make an appointment for appointments after the initial one so it goes much smoother. Be patient and get through it if you are interested in donating plasma they are great!

Believe it or not this used to be a five star review. Initially I was very pleased with Freedom Plasma. Freedom is still a better donation center than Biolife or CSL In terms of wait time, safety and sanitation. Theres just one aspect there that ruins the whole experience for me. An employee named Lee. My advice to you is to avoid this particular phlebotomist at all costs. She is the extremely heavyset woman with an unpleasant expression, and horrible attitude. You are free to request other phlebotomists, which is something I did not know until now. This woman has stuck me wrong on four different occasions. Once so badly that my arm bruised up and I couldn’t donate for a while. She even had the nerve to tell me it was my fault for “eating fatty foods which clogs up the filter”. For one, I don’t eat fatty foods, and for another she’d be one to talk as she makes up about 4 of me in sheer mass. I have not had problems with any other phlebotomist in the place. She is the only one who I have ever had problems with. Most of the staff are actually friendly and competent. Her managers are aware of her behavior, but don’t seem to do anything about her. And it’s funny that no matter when I go, or how long the check in takes, I always ended up with her. Like it’s some sort of joke on me. Well I don’t find it funny. I’m still going to use freedom as the other two companies are worse, but the quality of my otherwise good experience has definitely been downgraded to the point where I never feel like going because I know she’ll be there giving me ugly looks across the floor.

Drove 45 minutes on Monday with my husband and kids just to make my appointment. Had my first time donor appointment this morning at 8:30 am was there until well after 1 pm just to be told I need a doctor’s note of approval because of ear surgeries I had over 20 years ago. When I asked to see where it was stated in the guidelines and policies they refused to physically show me. Now I have to wait over 2 weeks just to have my doctor sign a paper, drive 45 minutes back to the donation center drop off the paper, then I have to wait until their doctor approves my doctors approval, then drive another 45 minutes back just to make my new appointment again. Not to mention the wasted time, gas and money just to be able to donate. I was at my appointment today for over 5 hours which caused my husband to miss work so I don’t think I’ll waste my time going back when I can just donate at any other center without all the made up hassle. Totally unprofessional and inexcusable.

Great place but some of the people here are on some power trips. I didn’t like something and the girl said “ no one force you to come here!” They need competition bad. I don’t blame them though. When dealing with poor people, you can do whatever you want.

Way understaffed or whoever runs the place needs more training. I have been there seven times and the only times I can get seen with an appointment is at 7:00 in the morning. Any other appointment time you make means nothing. I had an appointment today at 9:00 a.m. and at 10:20 I was still sitting there. Just canceled and left. It’s the second time in 2 weeks I’ve had to leave with a scheduled appointment. I would think that requiring appointments to come in would relieve some congestion. Might as well just allow everyone to walk in because appointments do nothing LOL. Check out the Lakeland or Kissimmee locations.

Had some blood results come back with low protein so I had to give another sample 3 weeks ago they said wait a week then call and check for results well they came In Last week but the doctor was not there so. I had to wait another week called multiple times a day for the past 2 days and no one picks up I know they have time since I’ve seen them all just stand around and chit chat many times very Unprofessional behavior

I enjoy having the opportunity to effortlessly save lives and pocket a few pennies $870 worth in my 1st month!!! Walk-in no appointment needed for 1st time donors all you need is a I.D. and ss#! Tell them EBONY CASON sent you, finish your 1st donation and walk away with your $$$! So If you’re healthy, eat a full meal, drink some water and go save a life or 2!!! You’re welcome in advance!

Completely unprofessional. I got deferred because of a lab techs mistakes during the screening process and I talked to two different leads trying to get some type of form to report this incident and I got nothing but excuses untill I walked out
