I scheduled and it was canceled. Then I rescheduled and drove to Albany, only one car available, and was told upon arriving that the machine just broke and could I wait an hour before giving plasma for an hour. I declined. They did not even offer to take a regular donation seeing I just drove from Schenectady to Albany. Very sad . I am an AB+ universal donor. Very disappointed .

I donate approximately twice a month. I recognize the importance of donating Platelets but the Staff is the reason why I look forward to each donation.

I love the red cross and their workers. They always make me feel at ease. I always have a great experience while donating. I only wish I could donate more often. Everybody who can should donate at least once. Blood and blood products are always needed.

I have given at this location several times and they are very friendly. My problem is with the app always showing that this location had no appt available. They have assured me every time I go that they did have appts available when the App said they didn’t. I called the 800 number and they don’t seem too concerned about it…..they are loosing donors to this location I’m sure.

Personable staff. Waited a bit even though I was a Sunday morning donation appointment when it’s generally quiet. Regardless always a much better experience than blood drives and worth the drive to Albany.

Edited because it contrasts so much with other reviews. Maybe they were having a bad day. But they accused me of making a same-day appointment which is somehow offensive to them… And by the way I made the appointment days in advance. They didn’t use my rapid pass and I had to re-fill out all the information. I didn’t even get started in the chair until an hour after my appointment. Then they blew my vein on the right hand side and couldn’t go any further. The nurse took my movie away and insisted I watch her favorite movie without asking me. They just weren’t very good. Bad day I suppose. If you want to help and contribute to the world, go somewhere else. Period.

The Staff are great and the environment is very welcoming. I don’t like needles but my visit was comfortable. First time enrolling and the process was fast if you meet everything that’s ask. Looking forward to my next visit.

I am fairly overweight, and it’s just difficult to find my veins. I’ve been to other locations and the phlebotomists have always had a hard time getting to my blood. And for those that have had similar difficulty, you know that it can hurt, and be generally unpleasant. But, Paula at this Everett Road location, is now the only person I go to. She finds it just fine, and is just a personable and professional person besides. Thank you Paula, for making my unpleasant experience so much easier. Glad to help save lives!

The aids are extremely friendly and courteous. I never have a bad experience whenever I donate. If you are a new dohner, I would highly suggest using this site as your first donation experience.
