The length of time it takes to complete a regular donation is ridiculous. I arrived at 3 pm and started at the kiosk. The kiosk wouldn’t let me proceed because the nurse did not log my tatoos/piercings, which I have none. So I had to see the nurse again and by the time I got done, the line was super long. I had an express pass that I was told to give to the person at the front desk. There was nobody there and people kept getting screened, so I just got in line. The nurse said I could use the pass at the donation line instead, but when I was screened, they said no it was for the screening line. I finally got a bed and it took 40 minutes to get stuck. At least 3 people that I know that came after me were completely done before I even had a needle in my arm. I tried tellng the staff, but they just dismissed me saying they were short staffed. Even the person next to me had to say how long I’ve been waiting. Also, when a young woman tried telling one of your staff that the bathroom was out of soap, she was very rude and dismissive saying that wasnt her problem. The sign says to notify staff if restroom is out of order. You should spend time at this plasma center and then go to another competing center. You will find the other ones are more well staffed, more competent & friendly, wait times shorter. The other facilities are cleaner and nicer too. Frankly, this place reeks of urine. You can smell it from the parking lot. The only thing this one has going for it is the location and weekend hours. Poor people like it because it’s on the bus and light rail line. Bottom line: apathetic/rude staff, long wait times. Also one guy looks like a retarded Neanderthal.

The facility smells awful I feel sick to my stomach from the unsanitary odor whenever I have to donate I hate even having to come in. It takes almost an hour to get prescreened the lines are super long for not reason at all. The staff is unprofessional at times when they should be working they’re too busy socializing than doing their jobs. Visiting this place is only last resort for quick cash but not worth the experience at all….

The people that work in back are usually pretty nice, the younger ones are normally more patient and friendly but the older staff members are better at sticking. Problem I had is with a policy, they held me up an extra 90 minutes because I accidentally answered yes to a definite no question during screening, they threatened to defer me for that, nurse was kind of rude about it. Then, the machine got stuck 6 or 7 times, so suddenly, nearly 4 hours have gone by and I’m late for work. My arm started to hurt to I asked to take the needle out, they ASKED me if I wanted to be re-stuck and I said no because I was late for work and because they had already adjusted the needle 6 times. They told me I was deferred for 8 weeks which is fine, lost some red blood cells. When I called back to clarify something, they told me I might be permanently banned because I had *refused* to be re-stuck, there was no refusal about it, they asked and I said no, kind of sneaky in the way they do things. Need to be more upfront and honest with donors about policies!!!!

Horrible. If I could give this place negative stars I would. A few staff are nice. Most don’t care. They don’t listen. The bowl inside my machine was vibrating I informed the staff. All that was done was a little staring on their part. Guess what? The bowl broke once it was full of my blood. Imagine that, glass breaks. I decided to give this place one more chance. I was sent a post card to redeem some extra cash for coming in. That was over a week ago, haven’t received it. That last time I donated I wasn’t paid. Staff were completely rude on the phone when I called. Wait time vary from an hour to three. If you can swing it try biolife in moundsview.

The service is professional, helpful and polite. In response to the other reviewer, I would ask what your attitude was at the front desk? They will not put up with rudeness from patients, but they have always helped me with my frequent questions and check in problems. The screening machine often does not recognize my fingerprints. In that case, I use my Social Security number as ID.

Place is pretty slow when it comes to donation times. Google says typically 1.5-2 hours.

Plan for this to take HOURS and don’t come if you’re in a hurry. If you’re a new donor, you will probably wait hours just to see the nurse. People get “fast passes” for donating a lot, so they get to cut to the front of the line, no matter how long you’ve been waiting – which sucks and CAN set you back an extra hour or two. HOWEVER, I have always been paid what they promise, and I have had ZERO complications with the actual donation process here -whereas at BioLife, it was a hit or miss if I could donate because they couldn’t get a good stick. Bring headphones or have something to do, because you will be there a while.

They are extremely SLOW! Don’t attend to any of the NEW donors. The nurse clearly caught an attitude after coming through the lobby and seen 3 ppl waiting and uttered” oh my God” and walked to the back. Then they had taken TWO donors that arrived AFTER I had and I thought that was completely disrespectful. I even waited an extra 30 minutes and still not seen! This is one of the WORST customer service experiences I’ve ever had. The ONLY POSITIVE THING I can say about this location is that the AFRICAN AMERICAN WOMEN were the ONLY ones who seemed to be doing their jobs and doing it promptly.!!!!!

Most of the staff don’t change their gloves between patients. When I asked about why they do not change gloves every time I was told “since we are not considered a health care facility we are not held to the same standards, most change their gloves if they have blood on them.” I will not be going back to this facility it is unsanitary.

This place is such a terrible experience for donating plasma. The only reason I go here is because it is conveniently located near the light rail. The whole center is very inefficient about getting people in and out. At the other plasma center I used to go to I could be in and out within an hour, here it will take at least an hour if you’re very lucky and most times will take at least 2 hours. It’s not their fault if it’s busy and wait times get long, but the majority of the time they just take forever to stick or unstick you.
