Been a happy donor for 4 years. No more. The past few months I get the same phlebotomist who constantly leaves bruises, leaving me ineligible to donate until it heals. I gave her the benefit of the doubt (shes very sweet), but after awhile, I started protesting to the staff, including the nurse. Nothing was done. It went ignored. I got her once again and I bruised instantly and had to be stuck in the other arm by someone else. Keep in mind, nobody else prior seemed to have an issue with the stick. I rarely bruised. She even admitted that from that point forward she would pass me off to someone else. I healed once more and went in, and of course it was my annual physical. I had back pain from work and had to reach back over my shoulders to lift my shirt up for her. The same nurse who ignored my concerns about bruising. After which I had a slight tremor in my hands because I was in pain from that motion. Subsequently, she asked me to stick my arms out again. No trembling that time. I don’t have a history of tremors. Didn’t matter to her. I was deferred until I go to my doctor and provide proof I don’t have an underlying condition. Said it made me a danger to myself and I might bruise. Ironic. Now I AM the problem. No, thanks. I will never donate with you all again, which is a shame because I really did buy into using it to help people, more than anything. Not going to my doctor for a nonexistent condition you made up on the spot in what feels like retaliation. It was fun for awhile. Oh well.

WARNING: THIS PLACE WILL BAIT & SWITCH WITH DONOR FEES. An employee told me I would be receiving $125 for my donation. She confirmed with another employee that I would be on the old donor fee schedule. After donation, I was told my fee was $40-something. This seems to be the result of poor communication but that has no place in a facility like this.

Now its starting to cost me money to come here. Still a miserable corporate experience dor the donor. Manipulated over 5 dollars. 4/17 i am absolutely done going here. The card and the fees make this a very negative donor experience. Updated 4/30. The experience continues to grow worse. The employees work as hard as ever. But the corporate decisions make it less than desirable. Sings says donate save lives. Ever wonder what a life is worth to corporate. 5 dollars that’s what’s it worth. They constantly toy with the pay out and they are actually paying less than they were last year at this time. These tactics are questionable

They permanently deferred me this week for getting psychiatric help at a hospital last summer in 2022. I don’t know how getting help when needed has anything to do with donating plasma. They don’t even screen your mental health. I gave that information willingly, thinking it wouldn’t matter, because it shouldn’t. I am very healthy and not even on meds.Would not recommend if you want to go to a place that is fair and doesn’t discriminate against mental health. Supposed to donate to save lives, but apparently if you seek mental help when you think you need it, your plasma is somehow not good anymore?? That was the only reason. By disclosing that information, the nurse asked a manager, and I was immediately deferred permanently. Can’t go back. That is prejudice against the mental health crisis in America and people in general.

Enjoy watching people stand around instead of checking people in to keep the line moving. A lot of people in there acting way more important than what they are. Watching 5 people talk to each other right now, I know at least 4 can check people in. No wonder the line is stupid here constantly.

Staff is very friendly. The lines are much shorter than surrounding centers such as akron or canton, and the facility is well kept and clean. I will admit they don’t have the most experienced phlebotomists, but they seem eager to learn and appear to genuinely care for the donors and do what they can to ensure a pleasant visit.

There is always something with this place. It is clean and there are some awesome employees (Heather, Dan to name a few). Got in at 245 after my cleaning job, while being screened my pulse was allegedly 111. Now, I’m not ruling it out but only one other time in i think 5 yrs of donating have o ever been elevated. I asked the screener, Rachel, if it could be that my sweater sleeve is too snug when I pulled it up. She said yes. She didn’t wait a full 15 min to call me back over but i was told by the manager that that is ok to do less than 15 min. I didn’t think so but ok. So— pulse still slightly elevated at 106. I ask is there any way to have it done on another machine? Problem is I should have asked that before the second screening. Same machine, possibly same problem. Anyway, I am “welcome to come back tomorrow”. Boy, Rachel seemed real sorry as she smugly told me that. I remember her when she first started and how nice she was back then!! There were people coming in after me. The last time I donated here @ 3 wks ago, I was the last one in the building to be stuck despite being here 45 min before close and waiting patiently in a bed until Heather got help. It took over an hour to be stuck that time bc I was simply forgotten about in Bay 3. I have no problem coming back Monday before work except now I have lost out on the extra $8 and $5 for my bonus. Not very much but with the donor fees already so low, that makes me very angry. I did want to say that although Rachel was not kind to me, Bambi ??(hope i am spelling that right) was very genuine/seemingly understanding of my frustration.
