My first donation was great. But after that first time, everything went downhill. They let my wife donate Monday & then yesterday when we went back they deferred her & said that she shouldn’t have been let through to begin with & told her that she had to fill out paperwork from her doctor with PRIVATE information. She was very embarrassed. Then today I tried to scan my QR code & it kept saying to see staff. The lady at the front didn’t bother coming over to fix it. She just said I had to go to medical & when I asked why she said “I don’t know”. Well. What do you know lady?! Ugh. We won’t be back.

The donation process is great once you get to the chair. It just takes forever to get to the chair. You have 62 questions and then vital test and then a nurse and then whatever else before you get to the chair. It takes an hour to get to the chair and an hour to donate. There needs to be a better process to get in faster.

I’ll never set foot in your clinic again. I’ve donated with you around 15 times. On several occasions it was painful to be a pin cushion for some very inexperienced personnel. Last Friday I spoke with a team leader advising I was terrified of needles and asked for an experienced phlebotomist that wasn’t OJT. Brianna came to the rescue and was great! Today I again advised of my fears and asked if Brianna was available. I was told I couldn’t request a specific person even though I was told she was on duty and I saw it wasn’t overly busy. A lady offered to assist me. I laid my hand on her forearm and said, “Ok, if you’re that confident.” She pulled back and said don’t touch me. I was shocked, said ok and walked out. I asked to speak to a manager. I got Krysten and India. They defended their positions as policy with absolutely no consideration for my fear of needles. Your people don’t know what doner retention is. My policy is if I can volunteer to help seriously ill patients I’ll do my part. I also have a policy that if an entity treats me disrespectfully I will no longer deal with them.

The staff was incredibly professional. Kind and answered all of my questions. The process when you first donate takes between two to four hours. They explain that in the beginning. Will definitely be back.

I donated plasma for the first time last week and had an overall good experience at CSL Spartanburg. The staff was very friendly but could have more of a sense of urgency. It is a several step process with long waits between each. I made a mistake on the questionnaire, which could have disqualified me, but they corrected it for me. The process isn’t any more painful than giving whole blood and the technician explained exactly what was happening. I think the compensation and rewards program is fair. It is also posted several places inside the facility, so I’m confused by the reviews that people got less payment than they expected.

Will love the fact if the workers will actually work and not talk so much amongst each other and be more professional and pay attention when putting a needle in someone arm

They accused me of being someone I am not. Now I am permanently deferred!! Made me so embarrassed because I am not that type of person!! I guess I am supposed to use the bathroom on myself while I donate plasma!! I will never recommend them to anyone ever again!!

I started donating here recently. The entire staff is very helpful and friendly. The nurse Olivia was especially helpful after I made a mistake on the questionnaire and had to see her for a second time in the same visit. There is a much more inviting atmosphere than other places I have donated in the past.
