I love donating blood at the Community Blood Center. Have been donating “baby bag,” O negative whole blood every 8 weeks since 2014. CBC is clean, comfortable, and has a friendly, well-trained staff. Giving blood or platelets is a simple way to be of service, and CBC makes it an enjoyable experience!

Great environment, clean, safe. It was an easy process all around. We did the full blood donation, only took an hour from checking in to headed home. The staff was lovely, helpful, and answered any questions. They made me feel at ease the entire time. I am sure we will become regular donors.

My wife and I went in to give blood. After my wife finished giving blood she started to feel blurry vision. Matt (an employee there), directed her to get back in the chair while escorting her to the chair. She made it almost to the chair and fainted and fell. Matt caught her on the way down so she didn’t hit her head on anything. He quickly got a team member to help put her in the chair. In a matter of seconds they had her in the chair laid back, removed her shoes, and put cold towels on her face, neck, and ankles. They had a fan blowing on her and had her hooked up to a blood pressure monitor. They got her apple juice, water, and a couple snacks. They stayed with her and monitored her until she was feeling better. I was very impressed with Matt’s professionalism and the response time of the rest of the staff. Thank you Matt for your great work!

After they started the donation process they left me to give blood without checking up on me at regular intervals. I’ve donated several times before no issue. This time there was and no one around to help. Eventually got someone’s attention but it has put me off for donations as I no longer feel safe doing so.

This location has an awesome team!! I’m personally big fans of Jen and Kate- but I’ve never had a bad experience! The phlebotomists are kind, patient, compassionate and always so grateful for each donation. The gals at the front desk are just as kind and welcoming. If you’re nervous or anxious- just let them know and they’ll do all they can to make it a positive experience.

Got in quickly this time. Downside, one of the workers was coughing and even though he did it in his elbow, he should have had a mask on! I also thought that workers should have a mask on when with you in those small rooms!

I have been donating at this location for almost 10 years. The staff is incredibly hard-working and competent, doing a great job with the initial needle stick as well as continued monitoring of symptoms during the draw process.

I’ve been a repeat donor for 3 years here. I’ve donated so much that my iron runs lower than it used to and I have to take iron pills and wait longer than 8 weeks to donate. I took a friend with me to donate, and my hemoglobin was 0.02 too low to donate after I met all of the other requirements. No problem at all. I went to sit next to the friend I referred to, and was told that if I wasn’t donating I had to leave because of Covid after I asked a staff if it was okay to stand next to her (first time donor). They would have taken my blood if my hemoglobin was a little higher. The lady that kicked me out was talking down on me and made me feel more awful than I already had since I was bummed my iron was too low. This place is about 50/50 with incredible staff vs standoffish staff. One time I was sent away after a lady only looked at my veins and didn’t want to do it. I am a regular donor because I am O- CMV- and I WANT to donate. Sucks that some of them don’t want to do their job well and treat me with kindness. Also the communication between their team just isn’t it. They have ruined my day a couple times.

I am a universal donor blood type so I get phone calls every so often to come in and donate. They make the appt scheduling process really easy. I schedule mine for really early in the morning so I don’t have to wait around. Heather was my phlebotomist and she was excellent! This was my first time donating platelets; she answered all my questions and took great care of me. She apparently isn’t at this location all the time, but I wish she was. The rest of the staff is also very nice. Their positive attitudes left me feeling like I had made a difference. Keep up the good work guys!

I have my favorites when it comes to who stabs me, but I’ve always felt super comfortable regardless of who does it. I’ve been to multiple centers in the area and OP has been the best.
