I like donating blood cause it makes me feel like I’m doing something good, the needle tick makes sure I’m not getting weak, and there is free food at the end. Every so often they will give out a small gift card which is cool.

Bloodwork’s NW does *NOT* pay their plasma donors like other donation centers.

Very rude employees, they did not acknowledge when I came in and stood at the counter. I finally had to ask if someone was going to help me. The young woman proceeded to ask me questions, such as my birthdate, then repeated it in a voice loud enough for everyone in the waiting room to hear. I told her I didn’t appreciate my personal information being shared with everyone. Her rudeness didn’t end there. Her interaction with other employees as well as patients was very unprofessional. I called her supervisor to report the incident. Patient privacy is definitely not a concern to these individuals. I suggest they receive more customer service training. I will not be returning to this location. BTW I did not stay to donate I was too frustrated with the rudeness of the staff.

I’ve recently had my first visit to the Bloodworks Northwest Silverdale Center to donate platelets. It was my first time not giving whole blood so at first, donating platelets seemed like it would be more “sketchy” and overall risky.

Staff can be horrifically rude. A few nice employees but a few need to go crawl back in their troll hole. They are rude and overly bossy and have zero people skills. I don’t think they calibrate their machines correctly either for testing.

Terrible front desk set-up. Usually takes me over an hour to get into a chair, regardless of how busy they are. Actually medical/blood draw staff are professional and know their gig, but you wouldn’t know it from the reception process.

I’ve never had a more horrible experience when giving blood. The receptionist was SO RUDE, and literally didn’t acknowledge my existence and just stared at her phone until I spoke up that I was there to donate blood, you know save a life, something important. Also, the guy who drew my blood put the needle in the worst spot and I told him I was in pain and he didn’t seem to care whatsoever. Everyone was rude, never smiled at me. Just horrible. And then today I called in because I am having a bad reaction on my skin from when he drew my blood and then SAME receptionist answered and said that it wasn’t their problem and just hung up on me. Never going to this location again, cannot believe they are in business.

I routinely give platelets and am happy to see that the opportunity (though a bit different today) is still available.

These are some of the best phlebotomists I’ve seen, and I was a Hospital Corpsman for 7 years. Also, everyone is as friendly and helpful as you could want. They give snacks and drinks after your donation and save the bottles to be reused as soap bottles for the homeless too.

Used to be a great company to work for now they’re a business, just like any place else and all they care about is their bottom line. Employees are treated unfairly, management is clueless and administration would prefer to sweep problems under the rug and fire people than deal with them.
