Have donated for over 30 years here and elsewhere and will stop now. Since association with Bloodworks NW the process of donating has become so difficult that it’s no longer worth the trouble. I have difficulty scheduling weeks in advance and the inability to directly call my local donation center directly to assess real-time availability is a major disadvantage – you get transferred to some centralized call center, about as pleasant as dealing with Comcast. The online scheduling app is hardly functional and nearly impossible find out where the bloodmobilie locations are accurately. Calls have been disorganized – I was called to request a donation, then they tell me on that call that donating 2 weeks later would probably be better. Marked on my card date of next available donation, but then was rejected because too early. Until they make it easier, and not harder, to donate, will not donate here.

I have been donating off and on at the Willamette location for the past 4 years. I just had a 2nd bad experience with them on Oct. 1 2022.

Very professional and pain free. Carol who helped me was a seasoned pro! Give a gift to someone you don’t know! ❤️

Clean, well organized & friendly. The staff does a great job, they walked me through my first donation, checking in every step of the way to make sure I was comfortable. I’ve been back to donate platelets, and will be back again soon: there is always a need and if you are able to schedule a donation it is super simple online and you can even do a pre-check in before you come in to make it even easier on donation day. Bonus: the cookies they give out are from a local spot and are AMAZING.

It was my first time donating and everyone was very nice! We had one person in our group without an appointment and they still got us in together! Plenty of smiles and genuine conversation! The snacks were good too! I’ll be going back every 3 months

The phlebotomy staff here is very friendly and polite to everyone who comes through. I fainted last time I gave blood, and the staff was so kind and attentive making sure I was ok. They didn’t make me feel like a burden or anything. This time when I went, I told them what happened last time, and they made sure I was fine start to finish. Never left my side and did everything to guarantee I didn’t pass out again. I didn’t catch their names, but the two phlebotomists with blue hair were the ones that did my donation today, and I’d like to thank them for being so attentive and kind .

I wish 0 stars was an option. This town is hurting without a red cross. I show up to donate after checking their web site and they are open but not accepting donations because of some event that they didnt bother to mention on their web site. Come back in 4 hours. I waste most of my day that I have arranged with the intention of giving blood. No big deal Ill do it later. I come back and am refused again for a different reason, also not mentioned on their web site. I never have these problems when I use the Red Cross. Horrible service, no information, poorly run in general. I will drive the 60+ miles to Salem rather than use them.

Website is not up-to-date regarding events that would perhaps cause donors to be unable to donate at specific times. Calls go unanswered previous to driving up there to double check times to donate. Website doesn’t list the most OBSCURE reasons as to why one would be unable to donate. I would recommend calling first, however good luck with speaking to a knowledgeable volunteer. While I was there being told they weren’t accepting blood at that time I inquired as to whether RN (registered nurses) were staffed and the volunteer had no idea. I’m not interested in donating in a place with minimal health care professionals and oblivious front staff.

I have never had a bad experience at Lane Blood Center. The staff is friendly and professional. The facility is clean. I have never experienced discomfort at the site during donation or afterward. As a person who has been giving blood for many ears, I cannot recommend Lane Blood Center enough!

Since the blood bank was taken over by a larger company from Washington and almost all the RN’s are gone (one is still there I believe), I feel very insecure that our blood supply is guarded well. There are also more times that the blood draw-ers are not very good at it. My son won’t give anymore as he gets as many as 3 calls a day from them, typically without a message left. I used to do my part, as an RN to encourage people to give blood. I can’t in good conscience do that anymore. I haven’t quit giving yet, but am considering it. I do not feel confident in this company, even the front office people are gone.
