I’ve been donating for about 7 years and I’ve never been told I need to “relax” when getting my finger pricked for a sample. (The tone of voice bothered me.) They also didnt tell me to help myself to the snacks as usual so to me, culturally, it felt weird to grab anything that day. I actually like how small the place is and how open the tech was in conversation otherwise. I think I’m just too used to the mannerisms at the main branch to get used to how lax this location operates.

After receiving a permanent diagnosis in late 2019 that renders me unable to continue donating blood indefinitely, I called & requested to be removed from the call list. Not only did the operator tell me to “call them back when I get better” (what a ghastly, unprofessional thing to say to somebody who has just disclosed diagnosis of a lifelong condition), but they continue to call me more than two years later.

Easy and smooth donation process at their South Anchorage location. The Donation Tech was friendly and informative. The 20 mins on a lunch hour is well worth the chance to save someone’s life.

I’m all for donating blood, but my last experience here was horrendous. I had an appointment yet had to wait an hour for someone to show up who actually had the training to stick me. No apologies or even a thank you from staff.
