Easily one of the most horribly-run establishments in Carbondale. It is commonplace to be waiting for 30 minutes to an hour and a half just to be told that you wasted your time and to come back tomorrow — half the time for something they could have made clear somewhere before you’d even been there for 5 minutes. One time, I was told only after I’d been there for a significant amount of time that apparently I was due for a physical, and that they stopped doing those 45 minutes ago. My friend spent close to two hours there just to be told he was intelligible to donate plasma due to him taking a medication that they had not even listed as a flag on any of the medication warnings they give beforehand. This isn’t even to mention that a lot of the doctors there haven’t been given any kind of guidance on how to stick somebody in a painless manner.

You expect people to be able to donate, yet there is no chairs for the people you have standing up for 45 minutes to an hour at a time. It’s stupid. Then have us sit there for 15 minutes thinking it’s going to lower our blood pressure even though, if you guys had chairs in the first place it would’ve never been a damn problem!

Highly disappointed with this company. Not only are their payouts not worth it (not truly what’s listed as potential on site) but it should NEVER take 5 hours, especially on a Sunday morning. It would have been more lucrative and less time consuming to drive to Paducah and donate then to come here. It would have been less time with an hour drive time each way, plus the donation, then to drive 15 minutes here. That should speak volumes in itself. Don’t waste your time, we certainly won’t be in the future.

They are absolutely unprofessional and I drove there twice after asking staff beforehand, when I got there they told me they were short staffed and had just taken their last one.Wasted my time and gas driving 32 miles one way, I won’t repeat the words the staff said but I will repeat it to the better business bureau, lady was prejudiced and actually sneered and the manager was no better.

It’s an okay place. The staff is usually very friendly. Sometimes they even play good music but that’s entirely up to you. There was one day when I heard something extremely inappropriate music being played in there. They don’t have any scheduled appointments so you have no idea of knowing whether it’s going to be busy or not. You may end up standing around for hours before you even donate. Then if you don’t come in for a while they’ll send you a message saying “make $800 this month for new donors” Meaning if you haven’t new donated in 6 months your a new donor. So you go in to make $800 and they come up with every excuse not to give it to you. Even though on their website it clearly says that you should make $800 at that specificlocation. I don’t have energy to argue with people like that anymore so I’m just letting you guys know in case it’s helpful. They get one star for giving you a little tiny bit of money for a life saving substance that causes you stress to produce or should I say sacrifice. They get one star for being friendly and another star for cleanliness. However I have to take a star away for deceitful business practice. I have to take another star away for management and encouraging inappropriate music to be played in the donating area. Normally if somebody’s playing music I don’t like I can simply leave but when I’m tied to a machine with a needle in my arm not really an option anymore. So I didn’t like that. I have to take a star for that one. Anyway hope you guys have a great day. Good luck!

Very disingenuous about their compensation rates. I was told that my first four donations would be worth 200 dollars each when I first came. My third donation was compensated only 125 dollars. I called to inquire about this and was told that the rates change monthly, and any of the remaining ‘first four’ donations that month would be also compensated 125 dollars. My fourth donation (during the same month) was compensated 85 dollars. Regardless of what amount I receive, I would appreciate much more transparency. I don’t appreciate being promised one thing and given another. The facility is always understaffed and crowded. Always an hour or more wait to get screened, much less the rest of the procedure.

The first few times I went were good but now it seems like they don’t have the staff to keep up with donors. I’m usually waiting 2-3 hours and notice when in the back, the few staff present take ages to begin AND finish donations. A man in front of me has been sitting unhooked for 20 minutes and 2 people have been ready to be unhooked for 30! This is really ridiculous, I don’t want to be a partypooper and blame it all on staff chatting/joking instead of paying attention but the optics ain’t good
