Local staff is 5 stars, but understaffed. Corporate is 1 star. I don’t think locals have much control over a lot of corporate mandates that put more of a strain on them. This disconnect and lack of support from corporate is bringing the rating down. Requiring appointments started off great as I could get in and out before or after work. Now, it is back to taking an hour or more just to get to the donor floor with an appointment. Local staff should be able to limit appointments and shut down walk-ins when they get backed up or short staffed. Failure of corporate to allow frontline autonomy is going to kill the local centers. As a regular donor (nearly 100 donations) who works and has other commitments, it is going to squeeze me out if I never know how close to my appointment I’ll be taken back. Getting paid the same whether I’m done in one hour or three hours doesn’t make it worth my time to take the gamble anymore. Corporate please listen before you drive us regular donors away! There’s not an endless supply of new donors, which seems to be the priority over incentivizing regulars. Instead of more staff or better compensation, they have great ideas like a silly “passport” and cheap swag that take more time from the donors and staff.

Visited to give my second donation of the week hours before closing. The place was packed and the lady at the desk had anxiety about it. She started telling me how busy they were and turned me away. I wasn’t upset but she continued to scold me for not having an appointment. I returned a week later with an appointment that I showed up early for. There were only 4 donors waiting ahead of me but again I got the third degree about the wait time. Nothing was happening. People were not at the kiosks. It seems like they make people wait on purpose to teach them a lesson about not having an appointment which are hard to come by at this location. Even if you get an appointment you’re still going to wait hours past your appointment time. The appointment system is broken.

I have never donated plasma before so I was very nervous went to start a new donar account and the young girl up front didn’t help with my anxieties. She was super rude and wouldn’t let me get a word in without her making rude comments to me and it felt degrading. After reading through all the essential disclaimers (which took 20 mins) when explaining everything to me she was talking super fast and I didn’t understand her. She was really pushy to stop having to deal with me. Any questions I had were not even acknowledged. Then after sitting for another 20 mins in the waiting room she called me into the small room and told me i couldnt donate that day. And wouldn’t explain why. I don’t know if ill be going back

I used to come here and staff was great. I went in to give one day and they told me that I was deferred for life for a discrepancy on my paperwork. When I originally registered they asked if i had my ears pierced. I said yes but I don’t wear earrings. (which is true, I don’t wear jewlerly anymore.) and she said on the paperwork that it says that I didn’t have any piercings. I told them that that was an issue on their part. I told them I had 11 piercings but no longer wear any of them anymore. She said even though it was their mistake, I’m still deferred for life. What a joke.

It’s been a year or so since I’ve given- hoping they worked out the slow process… to me it seems actually worse. The staff is very friendly and I realize it is not their fault. They try their best- but the process is horrible. Prepare for 4 hours with your first visit.

I was grateful for the opportunity to donate plasma and collect money that supported my family for about a year off and on. And I find myself to be a very reasonable person, but after today, I will not be returning. Multiple times there were issues where they had to quit my donation because of phlebotomist error. My first donation this week had to be stopped because the phlebotomist put my line in a place that got pinched and it severed the line and spilled 200 mL of blood. They gave me a drink and have me rest for a few minutes and then sent me on my way with my $40. I showed up two days later assuming I could donate because nobody told me I couldn’t when they sent me home early, and the lady at the front told me that because of a blood spill I couldn’t donate for 56 days. So because of a mistake that was not my own I am out of almost 2 months worth of supplemental income for my family. That’s almost $600. It also keeps me out of the running for the huge promotion they’re doing this month for donators.b I’m devastated and upset and I feel wrong. It works out for a lot of people, but you have to know that if something happens and it’s not your fault, you lose the income.

This was my first time donating and it was a bit lengthy, they were busy and I didn’t know what to expect but the entire staff seems like a family and they are super nice. Especially want to shout out Sarah who did the physical and was called to help when I was feeling nauseous near the end of my donation. She was beyond patient, kind and helpful please let her know that means a lot to someone who’s a first timer. Clemson could not have a better staff from what I observed.
