I have been donating plasma now since the beginning of summer. Sometimes it’s a good experience sometimes not so much. The last few weeks have been extra busy. Either i go and the line to ger screened is over 20-25 minutes. Then i wait in the waiting room for a chair, there’s another 20-25 minutes. i get in the chair, another 20 minutes just for someone to come over to me. i pump fast so that’s another 30 minutes. i wish they would not take so many appointments every day. there are plenty of people working, i see a lot of people just standing around chatting. a lot of young kids working. i just wish this location would get it together. the last donation, the young boy poked around my vein, which never happens, the whole experience was awful.

I have loved this North Richland Hills location until recently. I feel like they let a class of newbies loose recently. My iron has always been fine. The other day one of the new girls told me it was one point too low. Thought it was odd, but I left. Next few times I went back, totally fine. Until I get that same new girl. She tells me it’s one point off again. So this time I had a manager double check and what do you know? She was doing it wrong!!

The wait times have become absurd. I pump very fast. 30 minutes tops. 99% of the time I come here I am here at least 2 hours. They frequently have a line for screening of 25+ people and only 2 employees at the front. If they’re short staffed, I understand but then they shouldn’t have so many appointments available. As I write this I am sitting in the waiting area. I signed in at 1pm and as of 1:59pm I am still waiting and not even next in line to be called. Also it is Saturday and this is their “fastest” day I’ve found. They pay well which is the only reason I haven’t tried to go to a different company but may be forced

I was recently injured while donating at BioLife. It caused me 3 days in bed in order to recover. The day I donated they were obviously under staffed. After waiting 45 minutes I was finally sent to an area to donate. I continued to wait there while 3 different people came to help me get started. The first lady suddenly turned around and left only to find out later she went to lunch. The second lady was very distracted. She missed the vein in my right arm, then didn’t quite get it right in my left arm and had to call over the third lady to adjust the needle and finish the process. I will say that when I suddenly became ill and blood was pooling out of my arm the nurse that came to attend to me was fantastic. She knew exactly what to do and cared for me until I was capable of leaving. I will never donate at BioLife again.

Well, my blood was getting pumped back in to me on the 1st try/arm. They attempted another stick on my 2nd arm and missed. So I’m left with 2 bruised arms and will be able to donated the 2nd time this week so of course that’s money out of my pocket and when I come back the following week I have to start at the lowest donation pay again. Not really fair to the people trying to donate.

You have to make appointments with biolife for getting plasma taken. This would be great, if it actually made the process faster. Some how they actually manage to take longer usually than places I have been that take walk ins. They even claim that “their machines pull the plasma faster” but I didn’t notice much of a difference and they took 30 minutes to come disconnect me after I was done. With them requiring appointments you’d think it would be more streamlined and not near as much waiting but somehow it is sadly the opposite. They also add new donors to the front of the line(all places seem to do this) however didn’t do it for me and another guy I noticed so I had to wait a crazy long time, even on my first go through. Gone on different days of the week and they are either understaffed and/or over booked. A lot of time was spent by staff standing and talking as well, even when I am waiting to be disconnected for a long time. None of the times I went were they ever faster than centers that accept walk-ins.

This place is excellent. It’s always clean, and the staff are always pleasant. In the past there were a few times they were understaffed, but in the last 4-5 months there’s been no issue. Highly recommended for an easy side-hustle that pays well and helps people at the same time.

I’ve been going here a few months and thought it was ok at first. Clean facility, most employees are fairly nice. Kinda slow getting in the chair and.slower yet getting hooked up and taken off when finished. The last time I went was past Monday. I told 3 techs that something wasn’t right. Finally after the 3rd person looked at.me.she said yes, your blood isnt being pumped back in. So they tried the other arm and missed my vein. so they left both arms so bruised I wasn’t able to donate the 2nd time that week. So I’ve wasted my time/gas and lost out on the bigger pay for the 2nd donation due to no fault of mine!. But they say..oh come back next week n we will try again..But you go back to the lowest pay out due to their poor ability the 1st time. How is that fair to the donor who shows up n fault of their own and.cant donate. So I will wait til the bruises heal they caused and try and find another facility and start over. You would think they would treat returning donors better. And as always, wont be getting a high recommendation from.me.to.use Biolife. And of course nobody seemed concerned..just a shrug and turn their back on you. The good thing is their are plenty of Plasma facilities and most pay more anyway. So in the end I guess they did me a.favor.

This center is by far the best one I’ve been too. Staff is friendly and you don’t have to wait at all. I like the appointment system because like I said there’s no wait at all. You get there at your appointment time do your vitals and start donating if you pass everything. And the best part is the machines they have there are one of the greatest and unique. Ive donated in 27 minutes with there machines. When I usually take 40 minutes in other places.

Let’s be honest. We’re a bunch of people wh—‘ing ourselves out. Akin to dairy cattle. It’s not always gonna be a fast, seamless, comfortable experience. But the people that work there are so, so, SO NICE! Kind. Compassionate. And the compensation is very adequate. I do this in my spare time just to get me out of the house, help provide a service, and get compensated accordingly. Total 10/10.
