I ended up getting a hematoma in both arms because the nurse was rushing and pushed the needle thru my vein. They told me I wouldn’t get paid if I didn’t let them stick my other arm after they messed on the first time. My second arm began to swell up immediately after being stuck and it has been discolored and sore for about 3-4 weeks.

Since day one every donation has gone really well! All of the staff are polite and courteous and also attentive! Some, like Ryahnna ,go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and comfortable! BioLife on Judson Rd has an excellent staff and I’m glad I chose that donation center to start donating at!!!!

When they’re good they’re great. They’ll be quick and friendly. But today particularly sucked. It took over an hour just for me to get my vitals checked, and when my pulse was too high, instead of the 10 minutes I was put in the chair for almost 50. Three people were rechecked and cleared before I even got back in the chair. And once I finally did, she was distracted by other workers asking her questions.

The payout structure doesn’t work for me. They pay you a small amount your first donation of the week and a much larger one on your second. I have a very busy work schedule and can’t make it twice a week most weeks so it’s not even worth my time to go at all for the one small payout. I found another donation center that has more even payouts so it’s more worth my time on those weeks I can only donate once.

They won’t take your plasma if you have tattoos covering your arms. Any halfway decent phlebotomist can stick a vein with a tattoo on it. I was in a medic in the army for 6 years and had to do sticks on patients with amputations, burns, high vis/low vis situations and to be told they can’t stick me if they can’t see the vein just shows the lack of competence the workers have.

I have been giving plasma for about a year 1/2 now at this facility. The facility is always clean and the workers are all wonderful. The only reason why I am giving this facility two stars is because of the recent wait times of up to three hours. The wait times have never been this bad. I know the facility is short handed right now so the appointments scheduled per 5 mins should be reduced until you are fully staffed. You are working your employees to death and losing reoccurring donors. I, myself, will be taking a break until these issues are resolved. It seems like the newer employees are waiting until their section is completely empty before calling the next 6 donors too. This actually is making a donor wait even longer before being hooked up and may also be a reason for the ridiculous bed lines. I hope these issues are addressed and fixed soon.

This facility is one of the worst in baton rouge the management is very arrogant and uppity. They talk above your head as though you’re ignorant just because you’re coming to donate and you’re not. I would not recommend at all….. Worst

Donating plasma is great! You get to help save lives, have a brief period to yourself, and earn a little. I’ve been donating at BioLife for around two years. I started not long after the center in BR opened. The staff is always great! You can really tell they try and that they care. Management is a different story. This center has gone through so many manager changes. The staff is amazing, but there is never enough staff. Wait times in the past six months have consistently reached 2-3 hours. That being said, the wait times aren’t bad for the compensation. However, when they are always staffed enough to only have a max of half the center’s beds open, it feels like either management or chief leadership just really doesn’t want to staff their facility for the need. Maybe this is intentional. It just seems like they would have a happier staff if the tension wasn’t so high from donors getting impatient. People should learn to control themselves, obviously, but sometimes I feel pretty bad that the staff does their best to deal with people for longer than needed. I also know more people would donate if it wasn’t an all day affair. I do hope something changes eventually for the Baton Rouge BioLife to improve moral, speed, and consistent leadership.

only reason i gave one star is cuz i cant give zero . yall really need to get it together . no matter how mancbad reviews yall get yall never get any better and its really terrible . but if we report yall to corporate we would be wrong . yall open one section with 4 workers on the floor . yall can open the other sections too . and yall wonder why there is so many people lining up in here . we stand in the bed Waiting line for hours waiting to be put on a bed because yall wont open other sections and put people on beds . its yalls fault . do better or i will report yall .

Biolife is a very great an professional place. They are lenient if you don’t have address info. I was new to my house an hadn’t gotten any mail to prove I was living there they let me donate an gave me a week to get them info. There was also a slip up where I was banned from donating for a whole year but one quick look from a kind manager an boom I was good to go. The experience has been nice with only one incident where a trainie stuck my vein wrong an left bruising up my vien to my shoulder which ended up healing within two weeks. Over all very professional nice an will keep going to donate
