I’ve been donating for over a year and the facility is clean and the staff are friendly and competent. They are great at what they do and put up with a lot. But it seems corporate doesn’t care about them or treat them well. Staff are dropping like flies lately and it’s becoming very common to have a donation take a minimum of 2 hours. Which just isn’t worth it. Constantly short-staffed with staff leaving because they’re overworked. BioLife would be much more successful if they treated their staff well, made sure the shifts were adequately staffed so donors didn’t have to wait 2+ hours to make a difference in others’ lives.

I have donated at this location over a dozen times now. I’ve never been there LESS than an hour and 45 minutes. Twice now in the past 2 weeks I was there for over 2 1/2 hours. It’s incredibly frustrating and starting to feel like a waste of time. I typically have to go to work after I donate and today my heart rate was high because I was stressed about waiting in line for 40 minutes just to be prescreened. I even scheduled 30 minutes earlier than normal and I was the latest to work I’ve ever been. Sorry, but this is unacceptable.

I’ve been donating for about a year now and while almost all of my visits have been great the time for the entire process is just getting annoying. From the waiting to be checked. To the almost 45 minute wait you might deal with before you are hooked up to the machine, sometimes it really makes it difficult to want to continue donating. Showing up and leaving almost 3 hours later is just not worth it. Even on less busy day’s it can be like this. Hopefully they get a better system and figure this out.

I’m a fairly new donor and so far my experience has been positive. The staff is friendly and very helpful and the process seems to be pretty smooth every time I’ve been there. Overall the facility it’s clean and kept up to date.

I have been donating since 2019 and these marks on me have been there since I turned 18. Im now 25 and it’s apparent that now I’m DEFFERED from the program. BioLife has gone down hill. I have NEVER had a problem with them til today and I will NEVER COME BACK! I will also make sure to get some other doctors advice on the matter because I’ve seen plenty of doctors who have never had a concern about my arms. Goodbye BioLife! Nice knowing ya!

My visit to BioLife went quite a bit better than expected. My first visit took about 2 and a half hours from arrival to leaving, with assurances that the first visit is the longest it will ever take. The donation process was relatively painless, the compensation was available to me before I left the building. Everything was clean and everyone working there was pleasant. I had never donated before and they made sure to walk me through every step of the process. Definitely worth doing.

As someone who learned phlebotomy, if one misses the vein, you pull the needle out and start with a new one. I had an employee dig into my arm and left me a large bruise. I’m an easy draw, no idea how they messed up. My classmates never had a problem with me, some “professionals” need more practice.

KIARA is the BEST employee at the entire Bio Life center in Villa Park. She is a head nurse at the location, where I have been going for two years now. She has been the kindest, most genuine and always incredibly helpful. She is never difficult to communicate with and she just wants the best for every donor. What a wonderful person to have on site. Please reward her vigorously for her incredible work ethic. Thank you, Kiara, for your contribution to medicine.

If I could give this place zero stars, I most definitely will. There was only one professional person on the team, the young short lady that is at the front. But besides the one good worker from the team at the front area. There is a very dirty and unprofessional worker ZAK. Many times it felt racially. But ultimately we felt like we kept being dismissed. ZAK would call up other donors that had just came in, they were also NEW donors just like we were. After he was told that we should be up next, he still continued to ignore us. After each donor he would prep all the items that were to be used with the same DIRTY gloves that he had just used on the previous donor. He would not clean up the table or the equipment. He would also continue to make jokes that we felt ignored. In my opinion someone with such audacity and unprofessionalism should not be working in such a place where there is a constant demand of cleanliness and respectful manners. He even made a comment towards us stating “If I get fired for being a funny guy…” and then stopped. He was telling all of this to a donor which I think is also unprofessional since he was trying to dismiss and disrespect us. After stating all of this and still ignoring us, he proceeded to flip his name tag over to the side where his name was no longer visible. Once we finally were able to be seated with him, he was not able to complete the information section. And that made me uncomfortable and unsafe, ZAK had left the social security card out in the open along with the state ID. He kept looking at it but doing nothing. I DO NOT , trust this place with information if they have such unprofessional workers handling the human body and personal information. It’s a shame that these places entrust such people like ZAK to work here. I would not recommend being seen by this man, I don’t even believe he is qualified to work at BioLife.

Had an appointment at 87th Street location today at 4:20PM. I got there a bit early and checked in through the computer. I was then put into the back of the line which had about 25 people ahead of me. After 20 minutes and I didn’t move one foot forward, I left. I saw many open chairs not being used and even though I had a appointment it looked like I was going to wait over an hour just to sit down and give my plasma. Unacceptable!
