It was my very first time like EVER donating in my life and all because of JANET (South Dakota)….because of her fantastic people skills, she was very warm and welcoming, helped guide thru the process and just made everything very smooth and comfortable. She is your best asset in this office! I will always donate here because of my experience with her today. Thank you so much JANET!

Ameerah has done an incredible job! I started donating soon after she started and have seen her progress. She always has great bedside manners. The entire staff is always happy and willing when I come in

As a new donor I’m happy to say that my experience at this location has been quite pleasant and easy. The staff is friendly, welcoming, and are sure to guide you every step of the way. I’d also like to give a shout-out to the lovely Phlebotomist Ameerah who was very attentive and sweet during my third donation.

Some days are good some days are bad. Normally I schedule early in the am to get in to get out before work at like 6:30 in the morning. 75% of the time it’s not even worth the time. The team is so under staffed and can keep up. They will even speak up about that.Very poorly managed. Today 52 people scheduled for 6:30 and only have a few sections open. You stand in line for an hour and fifteen minutes before even getting a bed. Then another 20 minutes to get hooked up. 45 minutes to donate and then 15-20 to get in hooked. So two and a half hour. Time is very important to me and others and they need to have more staff and effort for the customers in this community. Last time I just had to leave as I had other appointments. Been donating at this business in Ames/ West Des Moines since 2004. Absolutely the worst experience for the outcome you get. Soon to be stepping away and looking for another place.

I see other reviews saying they are under staffed, I think it’s just the way they do things and I definitely saw other nurses being WAY more concerned with people but the lady who was working with the section i was put in, worried more about conversating with other employees than the people with needles in they arms. Sat there with a needle in my arm for an extra 40minutes after the machine was done waiting on her to take it out, the machine was beeping so she just turned it off. It was my first time donating and it will for sure be my last. I’ve heard better things from friends who have been to the ANKENY biolife so if you are thinking about it, go there! Cause this place sucks

I’ve been donating at this location for 6+ years and recently have noticed my wait times lengthening significantly from what appears to be understaffing. the staff they do have at the desk and on the floor does a great job but they seem stretched super thin. If donations continue to take so long, I will consider going elsewhere.

Staff is great, Sarah and Teresa at the front are top notch and professional and friendly. The techs are equally as great. However, suddenly the wait times have become ridiculous, why? A 6:45am appt and I am waiting 45 minutes for a seat. Why the drop in what you receive for donating? Should be the opposite especially if wait times are going to be this long. Thank you

This place is so terrible at scheduling, it’s so fricken annoying. People have things scheduled throughout the day and work, but they overbook every single time slot and on average for my last 8 donations, I had to wait 50 min before I even started. In the past this was 50min to 75min average for entire process but now it consistently is a 2 hour process. If you’re going to take this much longer it’s time to start giving more money to compensate people’s time or stop overbooking.

Have been an avid donor. Staff are great. Negative part to reschedule on app. You have to cancel other appointments to reschedule. They used to give coupons for loyal customers they stopped. Recently they started dropping price on donations. Lowest I’ve seen it $110. They have sweepstakes yet they don’t post who won. Would be nice if they compensated by tier as before. Not little amount first and second donation higher.

Promise did everything in her power to make sure I was aware of every step, comfortable, and safe throughout my first ever donation today! I wasn’t able to complete the full donation, and she was immediately by my side when I had symptoms. Super sweet! Made my experience so much better
