Most of the staff are awesome. However, the ethics which are practiced here target black women on a daily basis. For example, the nurses provide false medical information such as telling you that your iron level is low which allows them to select a more favorable donor.

Great staff…they know what they are doing. I go twice/week, and I’ve never had to wait more than 10 min before being called. I don’t care for the drive, but I’m glad it’s closer than most.

The staff here are cool people and professional and they are very personable with regulars they are nice down to earth young ladies, the energy positive energy you give them you will recieve back, there is also some nice eye candy here LOL!!! To help you pass the time when you get tired of looking at your phone Ok down to business, a good rule of thumb is to come well hydrated before come. So that your donation time goes fast you also want urinate before they put you on the table and put the needle in its nothing worse than having to wait 40 minutes to an hour with a full bladder so go before you leave the house again before they insert the needle. They were at one point giving 100 dollars for your first five donations for brand new donors but now I believe it may be back down to. 75 dollars I just do my five and then get the high pay rate and stop you dont want to over do it as you can develop bruising or scars on the puncture site so for new donors space out your donation days and switch arms also maybe to to three times a week for your first five anything after your first five goes down to about 45 to 50 per donation you have to wait a month I believe to get back to brand new donor status also call and confirm this info as they do change and have special bonuses based on the urgent need of plasma you also get 50$ referral bonus after a new person you refer donates their first time so remember dont over do it

Terrible, bruised me badly everytime, the wait is a nightmare. And I walked into the bathroom after another person only to get hit in the face with a big cloud of Crack smoke. Literally would not let my dog take a bathroom break there, let alone have one of the unknowing, rude, less then knowledgeable staff ever co.. towards me with a needle ever again. Oh but the white nurse was cute

Probably the worse experience donating. The management in place there is sad and it shows. The staff was very unprofessional, slow, and just terrible attitudes. You have doctors flirting with the nurses while perfoming physicals, reception people at the front taking personal calls while interviewing donors, and worst of all the people that stick you seem to didnt know what they were doing. The last time I went, they stuck me wrong or too deep. It started to hurt and became irritated and left me with a huge bruise that lasted over a week. I have donated several places before and never any pain or bruising. I just went to CSL plasma and you can tell the management they have in place there in Hazel Crest at least want your experience to be a pleasent one. I wish they would build a CSL in Gary so I won’t have to travel so far. Maybe Bio components would upgrade there facilities and hire some new management if they had some competition.
