They did a decent job. I was warmly greeted by the receptionist, the blood history went smoothly, and my phlebotomist was nice. However, she did take three tries to hit my vein and seemed a little impatient when it took me 8 minutes to donate. Overall a good experience but it could have been better.

I am very disappointed. A few days ago I made an appointment to donate blood at this donation center, despite living 2 hours away, as all of the blood drives in the rural town where I live are full for the forseeable future. Yesterday, I left work as soon as I got off and drove two hours to Idaho Falls, but when I arrived at 6:09 for my 6:00 appointment I was told they had closed 4 minutes ago. I don’t make a habit out of being late, but when you drive for two hours it only takes a small amount of traffic to be delayed by 4 minutes. The gentleman I spoke to was extremely unsympathetic about the fact that I had driven 2 hours to donate blood, and could care less that I had already completed my RapidPass, a step that definitely shaved off more than 4 minutes of the process. When I booked my appointment online, there was no mention that the facility closed at a certain time or that if I was 9 minutes late for my appointment I would be unable to donate. For an organization that is supposedly experiencing a blood shortage, they sure make it difficult for working citizens to donate. In the future I will take my donations, both blood and monetary, elsewhere.

I had a great experience donating blood at this center. I have struggled with feeling unwell after past donations, but this time was different. They suggested I try the “Power Red” donation. It takes quite a bit longer but it was well worth it when I didn’t become woozy and weak. I will definitely donate again!

The overall experience of donating blood with the American Red Cross has always been rewarding. The blood donation center on 17th Street in Idaho Falls has friendly staff and a good atmosphere. Some of their equipment could be updated, but it works fine. I have tricky veins to find and their staff was patient and successful in helping me give a full blood donation.

I gave blood here recently and, well, it didn’t go so good. As soon as I approached the entrance, I was greeted with a “no concealed weapons allowed” sign. I don’t remember that being there the last time I gave blood. I’m not a fan of that. However, I reluctantly disarmed myself because I had committed to the donation last month.

Went here because red Cross kept hounding me to donate so I finally gave in and made an appointment for my lunch break and the staff barely acknowledged I was there. They signed me and never talked to me again. After 50 minutes of waiting I left. Don’t bother donating blood here, they don’t care about your time.
