I’ve donated probably 5-6 times, and I’ve tried to make it a habit, but it just isn’t worth it. The Red Cross on Wilson is HORRIBLE. Every single time I’ve had an issue. Either the appointment was given to someone else, or they closed early that day, and today was the last straw….I drove in with my daughter and was informed that my two-year-old could not enter with me due to COVID-19…OK fair…but do you think that’s something you might want to mention in one of your 17 SPAM emails confirming that I’m coming to my appointment? The young lady was pretty rude about it, and said my daughter could just sit outside if I wanted. My two-year-old…sit outside unattended for 45 minutes. Good idea. Come on! If you’re begging for people to donate blood, just TRY to make it easy on people, and remember that I’m helping YOU…I don’t need or particularly want to get stuck with a giant needle. I’d recommend going to any other blood drive in town.

I have donated many times. Since moving I have wanted to donated especially now with covid. I made an appointment for the Wilson location online using the app and completed the questions ahead of time. I found the building and drove around for about 5 minutes trying to find parking due to all the snow. I made it inside and have no clue where to go as this is my first time at this location. I finally find the room after wondering around. I’m then informed that I can’t donated as I have two kiddos (2 years and 6 months) with me. Due to covid they are trying to keep the numbers down in the room. The lady was rude and asked me if I had someone that could watch the kids and I stated no, I’m a stay at home mother. Some of us don’t have extra help, SHM and no family up here. I understand due to covid only having the donor, but this should have been stated on the app and even made a question you had to answer. What a waste of time. I was trying to do something good and they made it impossible to do so. I will not be donating at the Wilson location ever!
