My first donation here went very smoothly but the second time they already told me they are about to close (even though I had an appointment and arrived on time). They ended up deferring me because apparently my pulse was too high after riding my bike to get to the donation center. I checked my heart rate myself, I am a medical doctor, and it definitely was under 100bpm. It really seemed as if the lady who took my vitals just wanted to close and needed a reason to defer me, which I find very unfortunate considering I want to help the Red Cross by donating my blood.

It was a pleasant experience, people were friendly, professional and very attentive. I got in quickly with no wait. All of my questions were answered and the donation process was quick and painless. I filled out a rapid pass in the Red Cross app before I arrived and that saved me some time. I recommend you to have their app if you are a frequent donor. It makes scheduling so much easier and allows you to follow your donation history. Save lives today!

This place is highly recommended. I did a power red donation and the lady who placed the needle put it in so well, that I did not even notice it! She is probably so good because she has worked there for over 30 years! A lot of people checked on me as I was donating and it is the only place that I will go for them.

I waited in the consultation room for over 40 minutes. Every time I have been here, the staff seems to be more interested in talking to each other and ignores the patients. They’re always a good stick but I’m less than impressed with the staff on multiple occasions and I don’t think I’ll be back.

The staff needs lessons in taking blood pressures. I volunteer my time to donate blood, only to be turned away because they claim my BP is too high. I do not, not have I ever, had high BP. I had it checked multiple times by other people after leaving and my BP was normal. When checking a BP, you actually have to slowly deflate the cuff while listening with a stethoscope. Not keep the cuff inflated for a couple minutes then just deflate all at once. Lesson learned. Stay away from this location. I wouldn’t trust them to take my blood if obtaining a BP is difficult.

Staff here are wonderful and the donation center is easy to get to from the highway or right on pearl. Private parking lot. The center is never too crowded. The longest I’ve had to wait has been 5 minutes!
