Always organized and ready for customers. They seem to have a good escalation procedures for thelittle things that need wisdom. The donation specialists really seem to help each other out as necessary to make sure all donors are cared for. Been donating here for 7 months. I recommend this group!

Terrible experience. Drove 35 miles to donate. Had to ring bell to get in. Signed on clipboard. Went downstairs to a room and had to sign in on computer unassisted. No staff in room. Staff member came in to get a donor. I asked how long before I could donate, and he informed me if I didn’t have an appointment they could not get me in. They have been saying that this time of year donations were down and there is a shortage of blood. I will never go here again and I don’t know if or when I will donate again. I have been donating every 2 months, but not this time.

I haven’t even been into a faculty but, the individuals who run the hotline are extremely rude! If you don’t like answering questions don’t work a call center. Usually Red Cross comes up to the colleges and ask for people to donate but, I missed it and was inquiring available times. You would think that the people would be nicer considering that giving blood may help save a life somewhere.

I recently left the Roanoke VA location on Church Ave. I had attempted to make a donation, but the techs ran into issues and it couldn’t be completed. When trying to find the vein, the technician missed or caused trauma in that area, and a hematoma formed that became swollen and painful. They couldn’t reset the computers, so the other arm wasn’t an option, so I lost over an hour and left rather uncomfortable. I’ve donated many times before on the mobile units, usually double red which is a longer process, and it tended to be quicker and the technicians hands more steady. Just hope the experience doesn’t turn me away from donating, I like doing my part and helping when I can. **Update – Photo is my arm a week later. Kind of embarrassing, and the sad thing is I didn’t get to donate**

Have given blood and platelets here numerous times. You may need to make an appointment and I recommend filling out a RapidPass, however the workers here are great and helpful and they always have free snacks for you afterwards!
