They have now wasted my time on two consecutive weeks and I won’t be back. I made an appointment to donate platelets on 10 June. I arrived on time after driving 30 min to get there and they informed me I couldn’t donate platelets because they were understaffed. A phone call would have been great. I donated whole blood instead. I made another appointment for 17 June to donate platelets, as well as a weekly appointment for the same for the next month. I showed up on time today, again after a 30 min drive, checked in, and sat down. After 30 min I asked the lady at the counter about my appointment time. She said they were behind schedule but didn’t know how long it would be, and made no effort to find out. There did not appear to be many donors there, and only one was waiting. After a few minutes another staff member came out and I and her how long it would be. She said probably another 30 minute wait because they were “understaffed” and then 3 hours for the donation. She acted like this was common and I was being unreasonable for expecting to not wait an hour with a confirmed appointment time, particularly for a 3 hour donation. I left and canceled all of my remaining appointments. They could have given me the courtesy of a phone call to let me know they were running late or at least let me know when I arrived. This is not how you treat donors.

I was 12 min late for my evening appt. And I had not completed my rapid pass at home like I was supposed to. ♀️ By the time I was able to check in, it was beyond the 15 min allowable tardiness window. ⏳ They were extremely polite and empathic explaining the policy. ⚕️ ⚕️ I realize after the public leaves, they still need to clean up before clocking out. It was my fault. I understand. And they still offered me a Tshirt and a snack! Love ’em.❣

I go into donate platelets and I had an appointment at 1pm that I scheduled online. I go to donate and I was deferred because of a bruise from another blood test. I kind of knew that I would be denied. Since I knew I would probably be denied I brought my husband to donate because they stated there is a blood shortage. I was told he couldn’t donate because he had no appointment. I am like well can he go into my appointment slot. They were like well we don’t have information for your appointment, so there isn’t an appointment to fill. My husband is O+ a universal donor and you deny his donation. Now I know why people don’t donate. Instead of setting up road blocks, maybe Red Cross shouldn’t be so picky especially when you have a healthy person coming to donate.

Disappointing experience here. I’ve donated whole blood and platelets in many places, in many states, over decades. Here the phlebotomist treated me like livestock — no human connection, talking across me like I’m not there. Needs intervention.

If there is 0 rating, I will put 0 in this place. This is a horrible place to go if you are going to donate blood.They are rude, disrespectful, and don’t care about how you feel. I feel like I’ve been discriminated and mistreated.I lost my eagerness to donate blood to help people because of their treatment. I will never go back to this place again.
