While the new facility is great and the workers are wonderful, there has been a total breakdown in the appointment process. I have made an appointment to donate plasma that has been canceled by the Red Cross three times in a row now. Despite getting multiple reminders and requests for appointment confirmation and going through the Rapid Pass sign in process, the appointments get canceled at the last minute. The last time I was even already in transit to the donation when I got the cancellation call. They claim there is a hiring issue, but they have to know how many slots they can handle with current staffing, yet the continue to overbook and not even have the courtesy to give a better advanced warning of cancellation so that donors do not waste time on completing a Rapid Pass and on needless travel, let alone the inconvenience of blocking out time for a donation repeatedly.

Place was empty. They do not take walk in patients. Woman at desk was nice. It lists this place as accepting walk in’s. Guess they don’t need plasma.

I just gave my first platelet donation yesterday. My veins are tiny/difficult to find but the tech did an amazing job getting both arms easily/painless for me. The techs were amazing at making me feel comfortable throughout the process that I look forward to donating again next week:)

I am a recent recurring platelet donor and I really love this location and its staff, especially Robin, who made me feel so comfortable and informed during my first visit that it inspired me to become a regular donor! The staff is fantastic at communication, keeping me informed about next steps in the process, and providing a comfortable donor experience. It’s something I am now really looking forward to every two weeks!

I just donated blood at this location this past week. The whole process was fine, but the tech did a bad job of stabbing me, had to call for help, and they were working the needle around trying to get the blood flowing. I’ve given blood dozens of times so I know this experience. I knew I was going to get a large bruise from this and sure enough, I have. I just wish the tech took more care as I have had many good experiences donating, and this was not one of them.

I’m done, donating my time and blood. This time, they said my temp. was too high. Every time, it’s something different. It’s like they don’t want my blood. I’m a hard-working person; I don’t have time to sit around and relax all day. So if my pulse or BP ot temp. is a little high because I just got done mowing my lawn, or working hard for a living. whatever, stop calling me and telling me how critical my blood donation is and wasting my time, just to say you can’t donate today.

I would like to thank the phlebotomy technician Ms. Theresa for the wonderful job she did on Sunday July 11 at the Willow Grove Red Cross Blood and Platelet Donation Center. I have been giving blood now for many years and she ranks up there in the top three. Tried to walk in for a donation, they said they don’t accept walk ins. The 800# I called prior said they do accept walk ins. 1.5 hours before close, at least 5 employees, no patients. LAZY! Don’t call me anymore
