I am very disappointed in the Red Cross. I have been a regular blood donor and even championed a couple of drives. Most activities have proven to be remarkably disorganized and poorly run. Most recently I have had 3 appointments administratively canceled with less than 24 hrs notice (one was due to the donation center not knowing the login info for the donor sign in computer!) It’s very difficult to believe the urgent need signs when willing donors are turned away.

If I could I would give zero stars. I Have volunteered at the JC red cross for the blood drives countless times and the staff is very rude and unfriendly.They treat their volunteers(who give up their time to help them)with zero respect.I have been to other blood drives and have not experienced this kind of behavior from the staff.No volunteer should be ignored or treated like they are invisable.The wrost place to volunteer or give blood.

It takes me 1/2 hour to get to the donation site so I try to give blood when I am already in town for something else. The first thing I was asked was if I had gone online and filled out the paperwork. When I said no it went down hill from there. The other times I have been at this location it was a fairly good experience. This last time not so much. I have donated gallons of blood. I only have so much time. I had to walk out. Not likely I will go back to that location on Harry l dr.

Gave blood here six times a year for the duration of my time in Binghamton. Friendly easy-going staff; highly recommend for regular blood donors, since the chairs are nicer than they have at the mobile blood drives and scheduling is almost always more convenient.
