This location is my least favorite Blood Donor location. I always feel like I am not wanted or needed here. The large woman here is very abrupt and rude. The donations are ALWAYS running behind and there is always a wait. They cannot do their job well here. I won’t be coming back here. I highly suggest going to a different location.

This Red Cross donation center is filled with the nicest staff. From the moment you walk in to the minute you leave, you feel welcomed and well taken care of. Even with the masks you can still see that the staff are smiling and they are so quick to help you! Shout out to Patsie for helping me out today! I’ll definitely be back to donate blood.

The last time I tried to donate whole blood at a community blood drive it was an awful experience with multiple needle sticks, and pain and bruising for weeks. I later learned that my veins are too small for the needles they use. So when I read that platelets donation involves smaller needles, I went to the Liverpool center to try that. I was a bit anxious, remembering my last experience, but from the time I walked in the door everyone was friendly, personable, calm and reassuring. Though efficient, they were all about my knowledge and comfort with the procedure. I watched TV (my channel of choice) for 2 hours while sitting in a recliner covered with warmed blankets. There was never any pain or bruising. I walked out feeling relaxed and happy that I can still help people in need of blood.

Good news! There is no blood shortage in Onondaga County! Being O-, I try to donate around the holidays. Life stress has been intense, so I haven’t for a while. Today, I had the time to donate, and a friend to drive me (I don’t like to drive when I’m running a pint low). I show up at the the Liverpool Red Cross location, 2.5 hours before closing… I figured that’s plenty of time to be tapped for a pint. Well, I couldn’t donate today because the front desk staff insisted that I have an appointment. I mentioned I’m O-, but still was told to book an appointment. Wait listing was not offered as an option (as often as people no-show appointments, I would think this is a possibility). I guess our community doesn’t have O blood shortage anymore… But I would say the facility looks nice and worth checking out; and my friend was able to walk in last week and donate blood (hence the 3 stars).

I love everyone at the American Red Cross. These are the best people in CNY. We are hosting 3 blood drives in December for the Red Cross on 12/17, 12/24, and 12/30 at the Dewitt Community Church and Northeast Medical on Christmas Eve. The code for our drive is DEWITTCC and NEMED. I encourage everyone to download the Red Cross blood app, call 1-800 RED CROSS, or visit REDCROSSBLOOD.org. Thank god for everyone at the Red Cross. We post our blood drives on Bottles For A Cure on Facebook. Thank you to everyone who donates blood regularly, and thank you to the wonderful people at the Red Cross in Liverpool. We all love and admire you so much! I encourage people every day to please donate blood to help cancer patients and people battling COVID-19. The American Red Cross has a wonderful staff and team that make you feel like family.

I’ve donated at this location seven or eight times and each time, I’ve been satisfied with my visit. The people that work there are super friendly and I always end up having the nicest conversations with them.

I don’t know where the complaints about being harassed is coming from. I give blood fairly often and I have never received a single phone call or mailing from them. If you don’t want to be contacted simply let them know.

Ask for William. He’s such a sweet heart and he does flawless (almost) painless sticks. He did everything correctly. Wonderful employee!
